Join MCC Arabic Instructor E. Yama Mohammad for a 12-week session to learn Classical Arabic this winter.

Course Description: The goal of Arabic 1A will be vocabulary acquisition, basic grammar skills, sentence structure, and everyday conversational skills. We will use A New Arabic Grammar and al-Kitab al-Asasi vol.1, and additional materials will be introduced regularly to aid the students in their learning process while simultaneously reinforcing classroom learning. By the end of the semester, students will have a wide repertoire of classical Arabic vocabulary, a good command of grammar, and basic communication skills. The minimum requirement for Arabic 1A is knowledge of the Arabic alphabet and its pronunciation.

Students will gain a command of classical Arabic vocabulary and grammar.

For ages 16 and up. Minimum requirement is an ability to read and recognize the Arabic alphabet.
