mcceastbay.org/hajj-workshop A workshop covering the rules (fiqh) of Hajj as well as the spiritual elements of Hajj. The first section will go through the rules of Hajj according to the Maliki school of fiqh but pointing out differences in other schools, and mentioning where taking dispensations of other schools may be valid and appropriate. The inward journey is applicable to all schools and will cover the inward elements of Hajj both in preparation, during the journey and on the way home. Stories and poetry of Murabit al Hajj, the great West African sage and scholar, will be shared throughout the workshop.
This workshop is open to youth and young adults ages 13-25 (older ages can apply but are subject to approval as priority is given to younger ages). Limited space and registration required. There are required readings and audios for this workshop that will take between 4-6 hours to be completed ahead of the workshop.
