The blessed Nisf-e-Sha'ban will fall on Sunday, April 21, inshaAllah. Fasting is highly encouraged on this day.
On the eve of 15th Sha'ban (Sat., April 20), join us for a joint event between the San Ramon Valley Islamic Center and MCC for a program and all-night qiyam on Saturday, April 20.
Here is the program for Saturday, April 20:
7:45 p.m. - Salat al Maghrib
8:45 p.m. - Qur'an recitation by Qari Amar Bellaha and individual voluntary worship
9:30 p.m. - Salat al Isha
10 p.m. - Short talk about Nisf-e-Sha'ban with Sidi Feraidoon Mojadedi

2:45 a.m. - Salat-ul-Tasbeeh
3:30 a.m. - Qiyam-ul-layl with Qari Amar Bellaha
4:15 a.m. - Suhoor (RSVP at mcceastbay.org/suhoor)

The fifteenth night of Sha`ban is one of the greatest nights of the year. There is a hadith narrated by Ahmad, al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah:
"One night Sayyidah `A’ishah noticed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had left her house. She went out to see where he was and found him in the Baqi` Graveyard raising his arms to the heavens in supplication. He said to her that on that night, the fifteenth night of Sha`ban, Allah forgives more people than there are hairs on the sheep of the tribe Kalb, an Arab tribe renowned for the great flocks of sheep that its members possessed."
Dua for the blessed Nisf-e-Sha'ban:
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا في رَجَبٍ وَ شَعْبَانَ وَ بَلِّغْنا رَمَضَانَ
Allahumma barik lana fi Rajabin wa Sha`ban wa ballighna Ramadan
“O Allah, bless us in Rajab and Sha`ban and enable us to reach Ramadan!”
