SUMMARY:Day of Prayer
DESCRIPTION:Ustadh Feraidoon Mojadedi represents the East Bay Muslim Community at the 2021 National Day to Pray. He will be joined by East Bay faith leaders as we pray for our nation\, our leaders\, and peace and prosperity. \nThursday\, May 6 | 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. \nWatch live at http://facebook.com/davidhaubertca \nOrganized by Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert (District 1). Watch the talk by Sidi Feraidoon at: https://youtu.be/XHmvrSlvb3U \n– More Sidi Feraidoon: https://mcceastbay.org/feraidoon \nThe National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May\, designated by the United States Congress\, when people are asked “to turn to God in prayer and meditation”. The president is required by law to sign a proclamation each year\, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day. \nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \n\n\n\n\n\nGuest Speaker: Sherry Hu\, Dublin City Council\nOpening Prayer: Pastor Steve Madsen\, Cornerstone Fellowship Devotional: Pastor Terry Inman\, Harbor Light\nDevotional: Head Priest Bhai Jaswinder Singh\, Livermore Gurdwara Devotional: Bishop J.W. In 1952\, Congress established an annual day of prayer and\, in 1988\, that law was amended\, designating the National day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May. \nDavid Haubert represents the First District Cities of Dublin\, Fremont\, Livermore\, and the Unincorporated Communities of Sunol and East Livermore. \n\nFeraidoon Mojadedi is one of the most well-known and respected community activists\, lecturers\, and entrepreneurs in the Bay Area\, California. He was born in Herat\, Afghanistan and immigrated with his family to America during the Russian invasion of Afghanistan in 1982. He completed his degree from San Francisco State University where he majored in history. During his last year of college\, he took on a major project and became producer of Muslim World TV\, a weekly TV show that was broadcast in the greater San Francisco Bay Area for five years. \n  \nAround the same time\, Ustadh Feraidoon spearheaded the weekend classes with Shaykh Hamza Yusuf at the iconic Islamic Study School in Hayward California\, which would eventually become the springboard that launched Zaytuna Institute\, now known as Zaytuna College. \n\n
