DESCRIPTION:Samer Al-Nass\n\n\n\nJoin us for a free primer about the forty hadith on the Virtues of Dhikr of Allah (swt) & Prophet Muhammad’s (saw) intercession (also known as Shifa’ al-Kubra) with Shaykh Samer Al-Nass\, who will expound on this topic at a weekend intensive. Shaykh Samer is a renowned scholar of the Qur’an\, Tafsir\, and Hadith. \n\n\n\n6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. | Friday\, January 12 | MCC Prayer Hall | Free | Join us in person or watch virtually at mcceastbay.org/live \n\n\n\nAttending the Friday night talk is optional for those attending the weekend workshop to receive the Ijaza certificate. Register for the weekend intensive with Shaykh Samer: https://mcceastbay.org/forty-hadith \n\n\n\nIjaza with Sanad (certificate) will only be given to the in-person attendees. Online viewers will benefit from virtually joining the retreat\, but he or she will not receive a completion certificate.  \n\n\n\nForty Hadith on The Virtue of Dhikr of Allah (the Exalted) is Sheikh Yusuf al-Nabhani’s collection of forty hadith on dhikr/divine remembrance. This is from his collection of forty hadith on forty subjects. Included is the commentary on these hadiths\, which further elucidates the practice.  \n\n\n\nForty Hadith About His (may Allah bestow peace and blessings be upon him) Intercession/Shifa’ Al-Kubra is a collection of hadith about the Day of Judgement. \n\n\n\nBoth books will be available to purchase at a discounted price on-site. \n\n\n\nImam Yusuf al-Nabhani Sheikh Yusuf al-Nabhani (1849-1932) was a Palestinian scholar. After his initial studies in his locality\, he studied in al-Azhar\, Egypt\, between 1866 and 1872\, where he studied the Islamic disciplines with numerous prominent scholars. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAt the request of Shaykh Samer\, attendees will receive an Ijaza certificate only if he or she attends in person. Online viewers may watch and benefit virtually but will not receive a certificate at the end of this weekend intensive. \n\n\n\nThe event will not be publicly live-streamed. Public release of the recordings will be at the discretion of every speaker. There’s no guarantee recordings will be released on the media channels for MCC East Bay. For a financial-based scholarship discount code\, please email scholarship@mcceastbay.org \n\n\n\nAbout the Presenter:Shaykh Samer was born in Damascus\, Syria\, where he studied at the College of Medicine of the University of Damascus. He went on to study in the United States\, where he qualified in internal medicine. \n\n\n\nThe Shaykh has studied under some of the great ‘ulama of the Levant (Shaam) and the Arabian peninsula. He has a traditional license to teach (ijazah) in the ten styles of recitation of the narration of the Shatibiyyah and the Durra from the world-renowned Shaykh Muhammad Sukkar. He received an ijazah in the ten styles of recitation of the narration of Tayyibah from the Egyptian Shaykh Ahmad Mustafa in Riyadh\, Saudi Arabia\, himself a student of Shaykh Abd al-Aziz al-Zayyat of Egypt. Shaykh Samer has a traditional license to teach (ijazah) in Islamic law (fiqh) and theology and creed (‘aqida) from Shaykh Lutfi al-Fayumi and the late Hanafi Mufti\, Shaykh Adib al-Kallas. He also studied with the previous Mufti of Syria\, Shaykh Abu Yusr Ibn `Abidin. Shaykh Samer was honored to study hadith in Mecca with the great Indonesian-Meccan Shaykh Yasin al-Fadani and with Shaykh Nur ud-din `Itr of Syria. He also has an ijazah in Prophetic traditions (hadith) from the late Shaykh `Abd Allah Siraj al-Din of Aleppo\, Syria. \n\n\n\nShaykh Samer is presently a teacher at Ma’had al-Fatih al-Islami in Damascus\, teaching the Hanafi fiqh manual Al-Hidayah in the department of Islamic Law (Shariah)\, and lecturer on the ten recitations of the Qur’an in the MA program. The Shaykh teaches Qur’anic recitation (tajwid) after fajr prayers daily in the blessed mosque of Shaykh Ibn `Arabi\, a post given to him by his Shaykh and father-in-law\, one of the illustrious Shaykhs of Quran in the Levant (Sham)\, the late Shaykh Muhammad Sukkar.
