DESCRIPTION:“Building Strong Muslim Men–Quran\, Speech and Fitness” \n\n\n\nFor boys ages 13-18\, Ustadh Haseeb Sadat and Qari Fardin Osmani lead a four-week summer camp that aims to enrich and engage adolescent boys while strengthening their Islamic identity. Ustadh Fardin will teach students the tajweed rules with visual aids and choral recitation. The instructors will also host an interactive tafseer session\, where the boys will actively engage with Allah’s ﷻ final revelation. Finally\, we intend to have the boys memorize four prominent sections of the Quran—one section each week.\n\n\n\nPublic Speaking: Workshops will be conducted to enhance communication skills\, boost confidence\, and enable participants to convey Islam’s message effectively in public settings. One of the learning outcomes will be to learn how to deliver a khutbah.\n\n\n\nSports Activities: Ustadh Haseeb will teach the boys wrestling and boxing techniques. He will also facilitate calisthenic workouts\, nutrition tips\, and basketball and handball games to promote physical fitness\, teamwork\, and sportsmanship.\n\n\n\nContemporary Teenage Issues: Students will feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their challenges. Facilitators will offer advice and\, at the same time\, challenge students to rise above in an encouraging and relatable way. Sensitive topics such as pornography\, opposite-gender interactions\, and music will be addressed. \n\n\n\n\nMaterials: \n\n\n\n\nAll Academic Reading Material and Handouts will be provided \n\n\n\nNotebook\, pencils\, highlighters\n\n\n\nBoxing gloves are highly recommended \n\n\n\n\nAbout Ustadh Haseeb \n\n\n\nSidi Haseeb Sadat\, a highly experienced professional committed to Muslim youth development\, will co-host the camp. Haseeb has a rich educational background\, having previously served as a vice principal of Granada Islamic School and a teacher at Northstar School. Furthermore\, Haseeb brings his athletic expertise as a former Division I Wrestler at UC Davis. With his extensive experience working with Muslim youth\, Haseeb is well-equipped to foster a nurturing\, educational environment for camp participants. \n\n\n\nAbout Hafiz Fardin Osmani \n\n\n\nUstadh Fardin is a Quran instructor for Furqan Academy. A hafiz of the Quran\, Ustadh Fardin\, is passionate about the Quranic sciences. He continues to pursue his studies with qualified teachers in Qira’at and Maqamaat.
