SUMMARY:Kids & Youth Islamic Summer Camp | Indira Kaljo
DESCRIPTION:For Boys and girls Ages 4-7 (one group) and 8-11 (Boys and girls will be separated): This summer\, enroll your child in a dynamic camp designed to enrich their Deen through engaging play\, educational activities\, arts\, and sports. All groups will have a maximum of 1 teacher for every 10 kids. \nWe will have daily Islamic knowledge classes\, outdoor games\, nature activities\, arts and crafts\, sports\, snacks\, water balloon fun\, and more! Each unit lasts approximately 45 minutes\, with time for lunch and prayer. \nMonday through Friday* | June 2\, 2025 – Aug. 1\, 2025 | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. | $360/week | Banquet Hall  | You can reserve for 1 week at a time or 4-9 weeks at a $50 per week discount. Sr. Indira is hugely excited to offer summer camps at MCC East Bay for the second year! She holds a Master’s degree in Science\, emphasizing Physical Education. Over the last twelve years\, she has organized summer and winter camps for youth in Saudi Arabia\, Turkey\, Bosnia\, and California. Sr. Indira is passionate about working with children and youth to provide a safe\, fun\, and enriching space for them to enjoy their summer! Sr. Indira looks to hire highly energetic\, positive\, and knowledgeable Muslims to offer beneficial and enjoyable sessions throughout the camp day\, insha’Allah. She has played professional basketball and has been a director of various programs since 2014. \nCollege Counselor Team:\nGirls Counselor and Lead: Sr. Masoma brings years of hands-on experience teaching at various Islamic summer camps\, Sunday schools\, and community programs throughout the Bay Area. A Hafidhah of the Quran and dedicated youth mentor\, she has led Quran\, Islamic studies\, and character-building classes. Masoma is passionate about creating meaningful spaces where young people feel supported\, inspired\, and connected to their faith. She founded a literacy nonprofit\, coordinated outreach efforts\, and served on various leadership boards. This summer\, she’s excited to bring her energy and love for teaching to make it unforgettable in sha Allah. She will also be a supervisor of the camp and your point of contact for girls.  \nBoys Counselor and Lead: Br. Kashif\, a senior at San Jose State\, finished Hifz in 2018. He attended K-8th grade at Northstar Islamic School\, learning everything from advanced Fiqh and Islamic studies to Seerah. He has experience teaching children throughout the years\, being an after-school maktab teacher for Quran and Islamic studies. He enjoys being involved with growing children’s knowledge of everything Islam promotes\, not just in the textbooks but in real-world scenarios. Through her\, with Sayyidunā ‘Alī ﵁\, the blessed lineage of her father\, the Messenger of God ﷺ\, was preserved. She resembled him in every way\, and of all people she was the dearest to his heart. She stood with him ﷺ and strove always to serve and aid him\, taking care of him after the death of her mother\, Sayyidatunā Khadīja ﵂. Fāṭima was brave\, strong\, forbearing\, dutiful\, gracious\, and protective. She was a loving mother and an inspiring example to her sons\, Imams Ḥasan and Ḥusayn ﵁. Fāṭima al-Zahrā ﵂ tells the life story of its subject in a vivid\, straightforward manner\, linking it to the history of Islam from the early times of tribulation to the establishment of the Dīn and the Community based in al-Madīna. Its style and approach are very suitable for children\, as well as for older readers. The author\, Dr Muhammad Abduh Yamani (d.1431/2010)\, who served for several years as Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Information\, was a distinguished educationalist\, author and businessman\, notable also for his piety and philanthropy. \n\n  \n\n  \n\n  \n\n  \n\n  \n\n  \n\n  \n\n  \n\n  \n\n
