DESCRIPTION:\n“Our Lord relieve us of the torment. Lo! we are believers!” (The Smoke 44:12) \nDuring our monthly Mawlid gathering at MCC on Saturday evening\, an earthquake struck\, one of a swarm of recent quakes that have hit in nearby San Ramon. \nNearly 150 tremors have struck in the Bay Area in the past month. \nThe Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) encouraged us to turn to Allah and to ask for His help during such disasters. Earthquakes are among the natural events that shake us the most amid life’s uncertainties. \nTomorrow afternoon\, we come together asking for forgiveness & refuge in Allah. Join us to soothe the anxiety in our hearts and to beseech Allah through special supplications. \nAfter the congregational Zuhr prayer (12:30 p.m.) tomorrow\, Sunday\, Dec. 21\, Ustadh Quran Hodge will lead us in worship and reflections. \nAfter we welcome a young man entering the fold of Islam\, we will pray together two rakats of the Prayer of Need (Salat al-Haja). We will then reflect on the weight of the moment we are in. \nJoin us as we approach Allah with our prayers\, trusting in Him in the face of any calamity that may befall us in this world. Finding community in faith at this time will give us confidence and peace. \n\n \nDua for Protection from Earthquakes \nاَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ \nO Allah\, I seek refuge in Your greatness from being swallowed up from beneath me. \nاَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ التَّرَدِّيْ وَالْهَدْمِ \nO Allah\, I seek refuge with You from being thrown from a high place or crushed beneath a falling wall \n[Sunan an-Nasa’i: 5529\, Sunan an-Nasa’i: 5531] \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe Are Now in Rajab!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLevel up now in the Month of Forgiveness as we near Ramadan!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImam Shafi’i (rahimahullah) has stated: \n“I have heard that Almighty Allah accepts du’as on five nights: \n\nThe night of Jumu’ah\,\nThe night of Eid al-Fitr\nThe night of Eid al-Adha\nThe first night of Rajab\,\nThe middle (15th) night of Shaban”\n\n(al-Umm\, vol. 2\, pg. 485)
