SUMMARY:Monthly Sisterhood Hike  | Sisters in the Outdoors
DESCRIPTION:Join us at 7 a.m. on Saturday\, April 4\, for a hike at Lafayette Reservoir Recreation Area to get to know other sisters in the community and enjoy the great outdoors. We will also have an Eid potluck after the hike! \nNo children\, please (female teens\, okay). Let us know you are coming: https://mcceastbay.org/rsvp \nIf sisters want to walk around more\, they can do it depending on their interest/time. The hike will be canceled if there are not enough RSVPs or depending on the weather. \n\n– When: Saturday\, April 4\n– Time: 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. – Please arrive a little early to park and find the group. The group can wait till 7:15 a.m. and will start the hike. Please be on time\, since we cannot hold the group.\n– Carpool: We highly recommend carpooling. No carpool is available from MCC for this hike. Carpooling encouraged others on this hike. Please note that cell phone service is not available at the parking lot\, so we kindly request that you arrive on time.\n– Parking: If the gate is closed\, roadside parking is available.\n– Meeting Point: Valley Viewpoint and Harrier Trail\n– Trail: Lafayette Reservoir Loop\n– Distance: 3 miles\n– Difficulty: Easy\n– Misc: Wear hiking shoes if possible. Bring a small breakfast/ Lunch sandwich or something to eat. Carry enough water\, a hat\, and a light jacket. Cyclists and people on roller skates\, rollerblades\, and scooters are only allowed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon until closing and on Sundays from opening until 11:00 a.m. on the paved Lakeside Trail and roads. \nAccessibility: There are 15 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of Mt. Diablo Boulevard at the north end of the trail. All of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved asphalt and smooth. It is typically at least 8 feet wide. \nThe majority of the trail is estimated to be in the mostly gentle (5% or less) grade category when going counterclockwise. Trail goers using wheelchairs/mobility equipment or strollers may need assistance in the steeper sections or to avoid them for safety. There are benches and picnic tables along the route for resting.

Join a brotherhood that hikes through life’s ups and downs\, finding strength and community in the great outdoors.  \nOur Monthly MCC Brothers Hike caters to various fitness levels and explores East Bay’s serene landscapes. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking to start\, we welcome you to share in this journey of fellowship and discovery.\n\nSaturday\, April 4 | 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. | Sunol Wilderness Regional Preserve | No children\, please (teenage boys\, okay) | RSVP at mcceastbay.org/brothers-hike \nIf brothers want to walk around more\, they can do it depending on their interests/time. Heading clockwise\, you go uphill with lots of shade and downhill via exposed slopes. If heading out later in the day\, bring plenty of water and sun protection.  \nThe views at the top of the hill are magnificent\, making the steep climb well worth the effort. The trailhead is a short distance south of the visitors center and can be accessed via Geary Road. There are many side trails\, so downloading offline maps is helpful to stay on the right path. Parking and restrooms are also available at the beginning of the trail.
