This recognition enlightens us and deepens our knowledge of his teachings. \n\n– Past mawlid celebrations at MCC: http://mcceastbay.org/mawlid\n\nAbout the Book\, “The Kingdom of the Heart”\n“Within every human being is a Kingdom. The heart is the ruler of this Kingdom\, and the rest of the body is its subjects. If the heart rules with justice and excellence\, the body will perform good actions\, and the Kingdom will flourish. If the heart neglects its duties\, the body will disobey Allah\, and the entire Kingdom will suffer the consequences. Allah ﷻ made this Kingdom so crucial that through it the eternal and everlasting dominion of the next life is either gained or lost.” The Kingdom of the Heart by Habib ‘Umar Bin Hafiz gives the reader a deeper understanding of the importance of cultivating the spiritual kingdom of the heart. Readers will gain a deeper appreciation of how outward actions have spiritual consequences. Some of the topics covered are: • The Tongue & Its Effects • Looking at Creation with Love & Mercy • The Impact of Shaking Hands • Attending to the Ending of Our Lives • The Impact of Intention This book uniquely shows the direct correlation between outward actions and the heart\, giving us insights into how various actions impact the state of our hearts. Ultimately\, it gives us a way to internalize the wisdom and purpose of acts of devotion\, resulting in the purification of the heart and nearness to Allah ﷻ. \nAbout the Author\nHabib Umar bin Hafiz (Arabic: حبيب عمر بن حفيظ\, romanized: Ḥabīb ʿUmar bin Ḥafīẓ; Arabic pronunciation: [ħabiːb ʕumar bin ħafiːðˤ]; born 27 May 1963) is a Yemeni Sunni and Sufi Islamic scholar\, teacher\, and founder and dean of Dar al-Mustafa Islamic seminary.[3] He is also a Supreme Advisory Council member for the Tabah Foundation in Abu Dhabi. \nUstadh Tariq Samady\nUstadh Tariq Samady is a native of the Bay Area with roots in the ancient city of Kabul. He has been a lifelong seeker of Islamic knowledge\, learning from a wide range of Muslim scholars\, both local and international. With the blessings of his teachers\, he has contributed to various educational programs and gatherings of dhikr. \nHis research and editing interests span Qur’an and Hadith commentaries\, Philology\, Spirituality\, and Persian Poetry. Tariq is the founder of Circles of Light (حلق النور)\, a fledgling educational initiative focused on sharing sacred learnings and wisdom for the community’s benefit. He studied Computer Science at California State University—East Bay and has over ten years of experience as a Developer and Analytics QA Engineer. \nAbout Circles of Light\nCircles of Light is a fledgling educational initiative focused on sharing sacred learnings and wisdom for the benefit of the community\, meant to assist in maximizing Dunya (this life) for our Deen (Faith). He gives wisdom to whomever He wills. Whoever is given wisdom has been given much good. But none pays heed except those with insight. (Quran). We are motivated by the words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); the most beloved people to Allah are those most beneficial to the people. (Hadith). We seek to achieve this aim through our in-person educational programs and publications. \nAlmighty Allah ﷻ directs us in Sūratul Aḥzāb\, “Verily\, Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Messenger of Allah. You who believe invoke blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation.” Our purpose of invoking blessings upon the Beloved ﷺ leads to proximity to Almighty Allah ﷻ by obeying this command while simultaneously fulfilling our rights upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It is crystal clear how vital the invocation of Ṣalawāt is for the believer\, and it is a Mercy of Almighty Allah ﷻ for its rewards to be multitudinous. Abundant Ṣalawāt upon the Beloved ﷺ leads to loving him and knowing his beautiful qualities. By that virtue\, degrees of purity are realized. From the signs of the people of the Sunnah is sending Ṣalawāt upon him\, for the key to all goodness is Ṣalawāt upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. \n\n– More Sidi Tariq Samady: http://mcceastbay.org/tariq\n– More Tri-Valley and East Bay Mawlid celebrations: https://mcceastbay.org/mawlid\n– More about celebrating the Prophet (peace be upon him)’s day of birth: https://seekersguidance.org/answers/general-counsel/innovation-bida-and-celebrating-the-prophets-birthday-mawlid\n– More sessions about “The Kingdom of the Heart”: http://mcceastbay.org/kingdom

Was not our Prophet (upon him peace and blessings) the radiant embodiment of outer and inner beauty? One who saw him was in awe\, and one who knew him fell in love. I hope Taleef translates that experiential beauty to a relevant American context while honoring the ethos and principles of the rich Islamic tradition.” \nFrom Taleef: \nDear Ta’leef community\,\nAsalaamu alaykum.\nPeace and blessings to you all. \nWe invite you to join us this coming Sunday\, January 11th\, for the last Mawlid gathering in the Main Hall of our Fremont campus. Please bring your family and friends to fill the room as we honor 17 years of memories and look forward to the journey ahead. \nSince 2008\, this space has been a cherished sanctuary for Ta’leef\, holding countless memories of shahadas\, weddings\, and spiritual growth. This Sunday is a moment to gather in gratitude\, honoring all that this community has built here over nearly two decades. \nThe current property development plans for the building will necessitate our temporary relocation. Our landlord has generously offered to work with us to ensure a smooth transition\, including the potential use of the warehouse in the near future after construction. \nWe want to express our profound gratitude to our landlords. Their immense generosity has provided Ta’leef with a home in Fremont to serve our community for many years\, for which we pray that Allah rewards them immensely. \nIn the meantime\, MCC East Bay has graciously offered to temporarily host Ta’leef’s Mawlid for a few weeks beginning January 18th. \nMay Allah facilitate ease throughout this process\, and we look forward to gathering this Sunday to unite our hearts through the love of the Prophet (AS). \nWith gratitude\,\nThe Ta’leef Board of Directors \n

SUMMARY:Mawlid: Hearts Connected | Ta'leef Collective
DESCRIPTION:Join us Sunday nights at 5:30 p.m. from April 5th to April 19th for evenings of remembrance\, reflection\, and community as MCC East Bay temporarily hosts Ta’leef Collective’s weekly Mawlids. \nGather to connect your heart to the Prophet ﷺ\, to God\, and to God’s servants. This gathering has been lovingly sustained for over 20 years by dedicated volunteers\, munshids\, and teachers. Each week will feature reflections from esteemed guest teachers. Join us and keep the connections alive. \n5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. | Sundays | April 5\, April 12\, April 19 | MCC Conference Room | In-person only or watch virtually at mcceastbay.org/live \nSponsored by Taleef Collective & MCC East Bay. \nAhead of Ramadan ’26\, MCC is temporarily hosting five weeks of Ta’leef Collective’s weekly Mawlid\, a beautiful gathering of community & remembrance that has been held for more than 20 years for the East Bay Muslim community. Please join us on: \n\nSunday\, April 5th – Special guest Sidi Syed Mubeen Saifullah\nSunday\, April 12th – Special guest Imam Zaid Shakir\nSunday\, April 19th – Special guest\n\nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \n“I want people to feel the true beauty of Islam when they encounter Ta’leef.

Raised and educated in Al Beheira governorate\, he went on to study medicine at the University of Alexandria\, where he later served as Vice Director of both the University Children’s Hospital and the Therapeutic Institution — a distinguished career culminating in a Master’s and Doctorate in Pediatrics. \nDr. Nuaina mastered the Ten Qira’at under Shaykh Ahmad Al-Shawa and Sheikha Umm Sa’d of Alexandria — a blind scholar who was among the great transmitters of the classical recitation tradition. Through these unbroken chains\, he became the living inheritor of Egypt’s grand Quranic legacy. His mastery\, spiritual presence\, and adherence to the classical tradition of tilawah place him in a unique and honored position within the history of modern Quran recitation. \nOn October 14\, 2025\, he was appointed Egypt’s Chief Qari — a prestigious recognition of his skill and decades of dedication. His voice\, luminous and soul-stirring\, has graced stages across the globe: from mosques in Houston\, Virginia\, and Milwaukee in the United States\, to London and Ilford in the UK\, to Scotland and Cape Town\, South Africa — drawing thousands who come simply to sit in the presence of the Quran recited as it was meant to be heard. \nIn addition to reciting the Quran around the world\, Shaykh Nuaina has recited at the historic Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo — one of the oldest and most revered centers of Islamic learning in the world — as well as the beloved Masjid al-Imam al-Hussain\, where crowds of worshippers would travel from every corner of Cairo simply to hear him recite. \nAcross continents and generations\, his voice has moved millions of hearts — a timeless reminder of the boundless power of the Word of Allah. \nThe Tanzeel Initiative: \nA US-based organization dedicated to reviving the timeless message of the Quran through education\, reflection\, and community-focused programs is proud to be arranging Shaykh Nuaina’s upcoming tour across the United States\, bringing this once-in-a-generation voice to Muslim communities nationwide. \nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \n \n \nJoin us at the Muslim Community Center (East Bay) on Sunday\, May 3rd\, for an evening with the Chief Qari of Egypt \, reflecting on what it means to live by the Quran and how to inculcate its guidance in our lives. \nIn collaboration w/ Lafayette Masjid\, MCC East Bay\, SRVIC\, and Tanzil Institute \nRSVP REQUIRED: tanzeelinitiative.org/events \n\nQari Ahmad Nuaina\nShaykh Zaki Ali\nQari Amar Bellaha\nQari Zian Ibrahim\nImam Yaseen Mahmoud\nUstadh Nakheel Dabbagh\n\nRefreshments will be served!

As waitlists at Islamic schools grow\, frustrated parents are unsure what to do next. \nWhat is Homeschooling?\nHomeschooling is an educational approach in which parents or guardians educate their children at home rather than sending them to a traditional public or private school. It involves providing comprehensive education to children in the comfort of their homes. \nIn homeschooling\, parents typically serve as primary educators. They develop or choose a curriculum\, create lesson plans\, and teach the material to their children. Parents can also choose to outsource instruction to qualified tutors and resources to support their children’s learning. Homeschooling can be tailored to meet every child’s unique needs\, interests\, and learning styles. \nWhy Homeschool?\nThe reasons for homeschooling vary from family to family. Common motivations include a desire for religious or moral education\, a more personalized approach to teaching\, concerns about the school environment or curriculum\, the child’s unique needs\, the family’s financial situation\, or the need for scheduling flexibility. \nIs Homeschooling legal?\nThe legality of homeschooling varies by country and\, in some cases\, by specific region. Laws and regulations regarding homeschooling can vary significantly. \nIn many countries\, homeschooling is legal and recognized as a legitimate educational option. Some countries have specific homeschooling laws that outline the requirements and procedures parents must follow. These laws may include mandatory notifications to educational authorities\, periodic assessments\, curriculum standards\, and teacher qualifications. \nIt is crucial for parents considering homeschooling to research the laws and regulations in their specific country\, state\, or region to ensure compliance with local requirements. Local homeschooling organizations\, support groups\, or Education consultants\, such as Soulful Studies\, can provide valuable information and guidance regarding the legal aspects of homeschooling in a particular area.
