DESCRIPTION:Join Sidi Zeeshan Mukhtar for a three-week flag football camp over three Saturdays for boys ages 8 to 13. \n\n\n\n10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. | Saturday mornings | Saturday\, December 17\, 2022\, to Saturday\, December 31\, 2022\,| Creekside Park in Pleasanton | Admissions $20/child for the remaining two sessions | Register at mcceastbay.org/football \n\n\n\nThe camp is limited to 45 kids. The camp will be canceled if rain is in the forecast. \n\n\n\nDads are encouraged to come and stay and participate as well.   \n\n\n\nPlease bring: \n\n\n\n\n1. Dress kids in layers for cold mornings and intense play.\n\n\n\n2. Properly fitted athletic shoes\n\n\n\n3. A snack if your kid needs it (banana or granola bar\, or power bar)\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Facilitator \n\n\n\nAzmat Zeeshan Mukhtar is a local father and mentor from our community who enjoys sports and kids. He will organize the activities and bring on some other dads to help volunteer and make this a rewarding activity for our young Muslim boys. DESCRIPTION:Join us between Maghrib to Isha this Sunday with Shaykh Abdullah Deeb & Imam Ahmad Deeb for dhikr and mawlid. \n\n\n\n5:30 p.m. | Sunday\, January 1 | No RSVP Required | MCC Conference Room | Join in-person or watch at mcceastbay.org/live \n\n\n\nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \n\n\n\nShaykh Abdallah Deeb \n\n\n\nShaykh Abdallah Deeb\, an Imam and teacher of the religious sciences since 1982\, graduated from Abu Nour Institute in Damascus\, Syria\, at a young age and currently holds one of the shortest sanads (chain of transmission from the Prophet ﷺ ) in the world for teaching Qur’an. \n\n\n\nShaykh Abdallah memorized the Qur’an at the age of 16 and became a world-renowned Qari’ at the age of 18. Upon memorizing the Qur’an\, he received his ijaza from Shaykh Muhammad Sukkar\, who held the highest ijaza in the world before he passed (rahimahullah). Shaykh Abdallah studied under some of the world’s most prestigious scholars for over two decades in Syria and has traveled all over the world to share his beautiful recitation and mastery of the Qur’an. \n\n\n\nHe immigrated to the U.S. with his family in 1999\, working as an Imam and Qur’an teacher in various major cities\, including Orlando\, Florida\, Dallas\, Texas\, and Cincinnati\, Ohio. He is the senior scholar and co-founder of Itqaan Institute and currently resides in Toledo\, Ohio with his family\, where he devotes his time exclusively to teaching Qur’an. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nImam Ahmad Deeb \n\n\n\nHis grandfather Dr. Sheikh Ramadan Deeb\, one of the oldest living scholars in Damascus\, is a renowned Syrian scholar who built important bridges between western and eastern scholarship. He grew up watching his father\, Shaykh Abdallah Deeb\, lead a Muslim community in Orlando\, Florida. \n\n\n\nBut\, even though he was born into a family of Muslim scholars\, Imam Ahmad Deeb struggled as a teenager seeking answers to fundamental questions about religion. \n\n\n\nIt wasn’t until University\, when he began attending a local halaqa and listening online to Shaykh Hamza Yusuf\, that Imam Deeb felt his mind and his heart begins to find a connection to Islam. Upon graduation\, he turned his focus to seeking knowledge at a higher level. \n\n\n\nShaykh Muhammad bin Yahya al-Husayni al-Ninowy\, a family friend\, invited him to join a Madina Institute pilot program he was starting in South Africa. Imam Ahmad Deeb spent a year at the Madina Institute in Cape Town. When he returned\, he continued studying with local scholars\, including his father and began a Master’s in Islamic Studies at Bayan Islamic Graduate School in Claremont\, California. \n\n\n\nToday\, Imam Ahmad Deeb is the Imam at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo\, located in one of the oldest Muslim communities in North America. He is the co-founder of Pillars Seminary alongside Shaykh Ismail Bowers\, which focuses on teaching the foundational Islamic sciences to busy professionals\, as well as the co-founder of Itqaan Institute\, dedicated to developing a love of God through a relationship and mastery of reciting the Qur’an\, with his father as the primary teacher and leader. \n\n\n\nHis story intersects with many familiar names: Shaykh Ramadan Deeb\, Shaykh Muhammad bin Yahya al-Ninowy\, Shaykh Abdallah Deeb\, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf\, Dr. Sherman Jackson\, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad / Timothy J.
