SUMMARY:Sacred Medicine: The Sacred Science of Alignment\, Balance\, and Right Relationship with God\, Creation\, and the Self
DESCRIPTION:This immersive full-day workshop explores sacred healing\, balance\, and spiritual alignment through the lens of the Islamic tradition of Hikma. Inspired by Dr. Mazen Atassi’s course\, Sacred Medicine: The Sacred Science of Alignment\, Balance\, and Right Relationship with God\, Creation\, and the Self\, the gathering invites participants to reimagine healing not simply as the treatment of illness\, but as the restoration of harmony between the soul\, body\, mind\, community\, and the Divine. \nRooted in vitalistic medicine\, Islamic spirituality\, and prophetic understandings of wellness\, the workshop will offer a grounded and embodied approach to holistic healing. Through lectures\, guided reflection\, somatic practices\, and interactive discussion\, attendees will explore themes including sacred medicine\, trauma healing\, fitra\, embodied presence\, and the integration of traditional Islamic wisdom with contemporary approaches to health and psychology. \nDesigned for both current and former students of Dr. Mazen’s programs at Cambridge Muslim College and The Hikma Academy — as well as new seekers interested in Islamic approaches to healing and spirituality — this gathering aims to cultivate meaningful learning\, reflection\, and community connection in an accessible\, transformative environment. \nHe will also be doing the Jumu’ah Khutbah at 2:30 p.m. at MCC East Bay on Friday\, June 5\, 2026. \nSunday June 7th | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. | MCC Conference Room | Register at mcceastbay.org/sacred | In person $25 and Online $10 | Lunch option $12 \nAll materials are provided with the workshop. \nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org  \nSchedule of events:  \nDr. Mazen Atassi \nDr. Mazen is also a student of Sidi Hakim Archuletta and has studied Arabic at Qasid Institute in Jordan\, alongside traditional studies in kalam\, fiqh\, seerah\, tajwid\, and tasawwuf both abroad and domestically. His teachers include Dr. Umar F. Abd-Allah\, Shaykh Amin Kholwadia\, Mufti Firas Shaheen\, Shaykh Abdullah Abu Sneinah\, Shaykh Dawud Trevelyn\, and others. \n \nWe are excited to announce that Dr. Mazen Atassi will be visiting the Bay Area\, inshaAllah. \nDr. Mazen is a naturopathic doctor\, homeopath\, somatic trauma counselor\, and the Founding Director of Forward to Health. His work beautifully bridges holistic healing\, vitalistic medicine\, and the Islamic tradition of Hikma\, guiding individuals toward greater vitality\, presence\, and restored fitra. \nHe also teaches Hikma: Vitalism and Somatic Medicine at Cambridge Muslim College as part of the Islamic Psychology program. \nFor more information\, please visit Instagram: @forward.to.health \nFeel free to message me with any questions.
