At Zaytuna College\, Dr. Ataie has taught Arabic\, Creedal Theology\, Comparative Theology\, Sciences of the Quran\, Introduction to the Qur’an\, and Seminal Ancient Texts. He received his BS in accounting from Cal Poly State University in 2000. In 2011\, he received his MA in Biblical Studies from Pacific School of Religion\, and in 2016\, his PhD in Cultural and Historical Studies in Religion from the Graduate Theological Union. Dr. Ataie’s PhD thesis\, titled “Authenticating the Johannine Injil: Muslim ‘Polemirenic’ Interpretive Approaches to the Gospel of John\,” is a faith-based hermeneutic of the Gospel of John in which the entire text is authenticated as being the true Gospel of Jesus Christ mentioned in the Qur’an. The goal is to provide students with a clear and realistic understanding of the different pathways from high school to professional careers in areas such as allopathic vs. osteopathic medicine (MD/DO)\, nursing\, physician assistant (PA)\, physical and occupational therapy (PT/OT)\, mental health therapists\, dentistry\, and veterinary medicine. Throughout the week\, students will learn about the educational journeys required for each field\, including college preparation\, graduate programs\, and admissions processes\, while also gaining insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of various healthcare professionals. \n\nThroughout the week\, students will dive into engaging\, hands-on activities like suturing\, CPR training\, and interactive role-play. She went on to pursue her medical training at California Health Sciences University in Clovis\, California\, where she will graduate this month. Born in London\, England\, he has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1983. After completing his religious studies\, Imam Tahir has served the Bay Area Muslim community since 2000. He also teaches Islamic Law at the renowned Zaytuna College\, America’s first Muslim liberal arts college\, located in Berkeley\, CA. In addition\, he is the founding board member of Averroes High School\, the Bay Area’s first Muslim high school. He is currently the chairman of the board of NISA\, the North American Islamic Shelter for the Abused\, an organization that works towards alleviating issues related to domestic violence. He has a passion for community service. He served on the Human Rights Commission for the City of San Jose for over 5 years and on the Human Relations Commission for the County of Santa Clara for one year. He also leads a group for Hajj each year. \nSidi Shaan Mukhtar \nSidi Shaan Mukhtar was born in the Bay Area and raised in the MCC community from a young age. Shaan has actively contributed to establishing MSAs at high schools and community colleges\, as well as youth halaqas\, at various mosques in the San Francisco Bay Area. Shaan holds a BA in Political Science from UC Davis and has pursued a passion for Islamic learning. He attended the Ilm Tree Homeschooling Cooperative during middle school\, where he studied Islamic Sciences under Shaykh Rami Nsour.   During college\, Shaan took a gap year to study Arabic in Jordan. He is currently pursuing his MA in Islamic Studies at the Islamic Seminary of America (TISA)\, where he studies alongside senior American Muslim scholars\, including Shaykh Yasir Qadhi\, Shaykha Tamara Gray\, and Dr. James Jones.
