SUMMARY:Ramadan Arts and Crafts Program 2026 | Khala Emira Mustafa
DESCRIPTION:For children Ages 4 to 12: Join Sister Emira Mustafa for fun-filled\, creative Saturday afternoons during the blessed month of Ramadan. \nCreate lasting memories with your kids as we craft meaningful keepsakes using high-quality materials\, insha’Allah. \nSaturdays\, Feb. 21\, Feb. 28\, & March 7 | 12:30 p.m. (After Dhur) to 2:30 p.m. | Ages 4 to 12 | MCC Lobby (outside the Prayer Hall) | $40 per session or $120 for all three activities + a bonus activity | Register at mcceastbay.org/ramadan-kids \nYou can register for three in-person individual weeks & 1 take-home activity or sign up for the full program! Check out the exciting lineup below: \nWeek 1: Flower Pounding Ramadan Canvas Bags\nUsing the flower hammering technique\, we will gently transfer the natural colors and shapes of flowers and leaves mentioned in the Qur’an onto our canvas bags. Each plant reminds us of Allah’s signs in creation. Afterward\, you will personalize your bag with painted stencils to add a Ramadan message or name. Making something beautiful\, meaningful\, and uniquely yours to carry throughout this blessed month. \nWeek 2: Wooden Masjid Puzzle\nWooden Masjid Puzzle Art is a hands-on activity where participants decorate individual wooden puzzle pieces that come together to make a unique masjid. The pieces can be mixed and interchanged to create unique and beautiful designs\, reminding us that many different parts come together to form one community. \nWeek 3: Yarn Art\nYarn Painting is a hands-on art activity inspired by the traditional art of the Huichol people of Mexico. Yarn is pressed onto a sticky surface to create colorful\, textured designs. After drawing a simple outline or following the provided stencils\, yarn is placed along the lines or swirled freely to form vibrant\, tactile pictures that the kids will be able to frame for a memorable keepsake. \nWeek 4: DIY Eid Stickers\nDIY Eid Stickers is a creative activity where participants color pre-provided Eid-inspired images or design their own stickers. These stickers can be used to decorate Eid cards\, gifts\, or keepsakes\, adding a personal and joyful touch to Eid celebrations. \nFor those unable to attend in person\, we offer take-home craft kits for all four weeks. Pickup can be scheduled in advance. \nNote: No refunds are allowed due to the prior purchase of materials specific to each program. However\, you can transfer or gift your spot to someone else.\n \nImportant Notes: \n\nThese are parent-and-me activities—parents must stay and supervise their children throughout the event.\nOnly registered children will receive materials for the crafts.\nEach session is capped at 75 children\, so register early before we fill up! A second session may be added pending registration needs.\nRefunds are not available\, but you may transfer your spot or pick up the week’s materials by the end of the session.\nPrices will increase after January 17th once full.\n\nLet’s make this Ramadan memorable for our little ones! 🌟 \nMCC has a standing policy that financial need should never prevent a person from attaining spiritual or practical knowledge from any event or class held within the community center. To request a financial waiver\, message scholarship@mcceastbay.org \nAbout the Facilitator: \nSister Emira Mustafa is the founder of Craft E Muslims\, a business with a mission to creatively connect the heart and mind through fun\, innovative methods. \nShe has published two workbooks available on Amazon titled “Islamic Themed Fall Festival Activity Kit” and “Practically Preparing for Ramadan.” Her Etsy page features many Islamic-themed crafting kits sure to inspire a love of learning within our community. \nHere is one of her crafting videos on how to make a Rustic Eid Twinkle Light Banner: https://youtu.be/J8xIJOTy5dM \n\n\n– More Sr. Emira: http://mcceastbay.org/emira \n\n\n– More sessions for young Muslim children: http://mcceastbay.org/children \n\n\nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nhttps://mcceastbay.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/WhatsApp-Video-2026-02-26-at-1.53.57-PM.mp4

But there is a gap. We do not have enough stories that reflect the rich legacy of Muslim heroes\, especially Muslim women. \nThis book bridges that gap by: \n\nIt presents an engaging and empowering story of the 12th-century female scholar Fatima Samarqandi\, with vibrant illustrations that bring 12th-century Samarkand to life.\n– The story instills pride in the rich tapestry of Islamic heritage \n\nAbout the Author:\nFarhatjahan Saiyed is a Homeschooling Mother\, Educator\, Entrepreneur\, and Environmentalist. She profoundly believes that empowering our children with the legacy of Muslim heroes is one of the best ways to nurture confidence in their Muslim identity. Sharing the stories of remarkable individuals who led successful and pious lives while uncovering the forgotten treasures of Islamic history inspires young minds to grow with purpose. As a parent and advocate for meaningful and mindful education\, she felt inspired to create a book that encourages children to explore\, question\, and celebrate their rich heritage with pride and curiosity. \nWhy This Book Matters:\nIn today’s world\, stories about historical figures like Fatima al-Samarqandi are largely untold. Most children grow up without learning about the inspiring contributions of Muslim scholars\, especially women\, in shaping history. \nThis book bridges that gap by:\n📖 Presenting a fun\, engaging\, and empowering story for children aged 7+.\n🎨 Featuring vibrant illustrations that bring 12th-century Samarkand to life.\n🌍 Inspiring coming generations by instilling pride in the rich tapestry of Islamic heritage and its commitment to learning. \n“Fatima al Samarqandi’s legacy doesn’t just benefit our daughters\, but also our sons at a time when confusion of roles and gender may create an inferiority complex. This book is more than just a story—it’s a tool to empower the next generation with the legacy of true character\, intellect\, resilience and light…” \n– Ustadha Shamira Chothia (Scholar\, Co-Founder- The Rahma Foundation\, Public Speaker) \n“In an age when many Muslim voices are being silenced\, it is important to have our voices heard and our narrative reclaimed. Sister Farhat is part of this vital endeavor by bringing to light the work and life of an important female contributor to Islam.”\n Ustadh Abu Ayyub Marulanda\nFounder\, In the Shade of the Minaret
