SUMMARY:The Key is Knowledge: Knowing Allah Through Scholarship | Ustadha Hosai Mojaddidi & Shaykh Noman Hussain
DESCRIPTION:In a time of noise and uncertainty\, clarity comes from returning to sacred knowledge. 2026 is your year to do so! Join Ustadha Hosai Mojaddidi and Shaykh Noman Hussain to strengthen Iman\, deepen understanding\, and reconnect with timeless guidance that anchors the heart and mind. \n 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. | Friday\, January 9\, 2026 | MCC Prayer Hall | Join in person or watch virtually at mcceastbay.org/live  \nDue to a family need\, Mufti Abdul Rahman Waheed could not make it as originally planned. \nSponsored by Miftaah Institute & MCC East Bay.\n\nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org  \nUstadha Hosai is the co-founder of MH4M (http://mentalhealth4muslims.com)\, established in 2010. For nearly 20 years\, she has been actively involved in the Bay Area and southern California Muslim community\, working and volunteering for many notable organizations. Learn more about her at http://hosaimojaddidi.com \n– More Ustadha Hosai: http://mcceastbay.org/hosai \nUstadha Hosai Mojaddidi was born in Afghanistan and moved to the United States with her family at age two. She credits her Islamic journey to the year 1996 when she began attending Islamic classes in Hayward\, California. These classes were taught by her teacher and mentor since then; Shaykh Hamza Yusuf. \nOne of her main areas of focus is to help create a strong sisterhood for the women in the community by leading halaqas (spiritual study circles) and support groups whilst offering individual spiritual counseling and mentoring. She noted that many of the spiritual problems encountered were actually reflective of the deep and complicated mental health issues of the community and would be better served by focusing on mental health. Thus\, along with her cousin Dr. Nafisa Sekandari\, they co-founded a website called Mental Health 4 Muslims (www.mentalhealth4muslims.com). \nUstadha Hosai is also a freelance writer and editor and lectures on various Islamic/spiritual topics. \nQari Noman Hussain serves as the Associate Director and a faculty member at the Qalam Seminary. This gradual route is a less-strenuous option for hiking to the top of the popular East Bay peak. \nIt starts from the parking lot at Ohlone College along Mission Boulevard in Fremont\, California. Just one trail — the aptly named Peak Trail — curves and climbs its way to the 2\,517-foot summit of Mission Peak. (From the parking lot\, look for a sign pointing to Ohlone Trail). \nAbundant parking at Ohlone College on the weekend makes this trailhead a welcome alternative to the Stanford Avenue entrance which fills quickly. There’s also a bit more shade on this route compared to other trails to the summit.  \nImpressive views of the Diablo Range and San Francisco Bay open up on the way up. Don’t be surprised if you see deer and coyotes the ground and raptors and vultures soaring overhead. \nBest time to go: Springtime when the hills are green and the wildflowers are blooming. Winter’s the next-best time\, especially if the peak gets a dusting of snow. Fall is OK; summer’s too hot during the day\, but many hikers hit the summit at sunset and hike down after dark (best done under a full moon).

In contrast\, others acknowledge the New Testament’s mention of “brothers of the Lord” without definitive Islamic doctrine\, accepting historical accounts that don’t conflict with core beliefs.

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) rode Buraq (a white steed) during his journey\, and Allah enjoined 50 prayers\, which He later reduced to five. \nHe met different Prophets on the journey: \n\n– 7th Heaven met Ibrahim (AS)\n– 6th Heaven met Musa (AS)\n– 5th Heaven met Harun (AS)\n– 4th Heaven met Idris (AS)\n– 3rd Heaven met Yusuf (AS)\n– 2nd Heaven met Isa (AS) & Yahya (AS)\n– 1st Heaven met Adam (AS)\n\nMI’RAJ – Ascend to heaven\, where he speaks to God\nISRA’ – Night journey from Makkah to Jerusalem \nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org

This recognition enlightens us and deepens our knowledge of his teachings. \n\n– Past mawlid celebrations at MCC: http://mcceastbay.org/mawlid\n\nAbout the Book\, “The Kingdom of the Heart”\n“Within every human being is a Kingdom. The heart is the ruler of this Kingdom\, and the rest of the body is its subjects. If the heart rules with justice and excellence\, the body will perform good actions\, and the Kingdom will flourish. If the heart neglects its duties\, the body will disobey Allah\, and the entire Kingdom will suffer the consequences. Allah ﷻ made this Kingdom so crucial that through it the eternal and everlasting dominion of the next life is either gained or lost.” The Kingdom of the Heart by Habib ‘Umar Bin Hafiz gives the reader a deeper understanding of the importance of cultivating the spiritual kingdom of the heart. Readers will gain a deeper appreciation of how outward actions have spiritual consequences. Some of the topics covered are: • The Tongue & Its Effects • Looking at Creation with Love & Mercy • The Impact of Shaking Hands • Attending to the Ending of Our Lives • The Impact of Intention This book uniquely shows the direct correlation between outward actions and the heart\, giving us insights into how various actions impact the state of our hearts. Ultimately\, it gives us a way to internalize the wisdom and purpose of acts of devotion\, resulting in the purification of the heart and nearness to Allah ﷻ. \nAbout the Author\nHabib Umar bin Hafiz (Arabic: حبيب عمر بن حفيظ\, romanized: Ḥabīb ʿUmar bin Ḥafīẓ; Arabic pronunciation: [ħabiːb ʕumar bin ħafiːðˤ]; born 27 May 1963) is a Yemeni Sunni and Sufi Islamic scholar\, teacher\, and founder and dean of Dar al-Mustafa Islamic seminary.[3] He is also a Supreme Advisory Council member for the Tabah Foundation in Abu Dhabi. \nUstadh Tariq Samady\nUstadh Tariq Samady is a native of the Bay Area with roots in the ancient city of Kabul. He has been a lifelong seeker of Islamic knowledge\, learning from a wide range of Muslim scholars\, both local and international. With the blessings of his teachers\, he has contributed to various educational programs and gatherings of dhikr. \nHis research and editing interests span Qur’an and Hadith commentaries\, Philology\, Spirituality\, and Persian Poetry. Tariq is the founder of Circles of Light (حلق النور)\, a fledgling educational initiative focused on sharing sacred learnings and wisdom for the community’s benefit. He studied Computer Science at California State University—East Bay and has over ten years of experience as a Developer and Analytics QA Engineer. \nAbout Circles of Light\nCircles of Light is a fledgling educational initiative focused on sharing sacred learnings and wisdom for the benefit of the community\, meant to assist in maximizing Dunya (this life) for our Deen (Faith). He gives wisdom to whomever He wills. Whoever is given wisdom has been given much good. But none pays heed except those with insight. (Quran). We are motivated by the words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); the most beloved people to Allah are those most beneficial to the people. (Hadith). We seek to achieve this aim through our in-person educational programs and publications. \nAlmighty Allah ﷻ directs us in Sūratul Aḥzāb\, “Verily\, Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Messenger of Allah. You who believe invoke blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation.” Our purpose of invoking blessings upon the Beloved ﷺ leads to proximity to Almighty Allah ﷻ by obeying this command while simultaneously fulfilling our rights upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It is crystal clear how vital the invocation of Ṣalawāt is for the believer\, and it is a Mercy of Almighty Allah ﷻ for its rewards to be multitudinous. Abundant Ṣalawāt upon the Beloved ﷺ leads to loving him and knowing his beautiful qualities. By that virtue\, degrees of purity are realized. From the signs of the people of the Sunnah is sending Ṣalawāt upon him\, for the key to all goodness is Ṣalawāt upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. \n\n– More Sidi Tariq Samady: http://mcceastbay.org/tariq\n– More Tri-Valley and East Bay Mawlid celebrations: https://mcceastbay.org/mawlid\n– More about celebrating the Prophet (peace be upon him)’s day of birth: https://seekersguidance.org/answers/general-counsel/innovation-bida-and-celebrating-the-prophets-birthday-mawlid\n– More sessions about “The Kingdom of the Heart”: http://mcceastbay.org/kingdom

SUMMARY:Mawlid: Hearts Connected | Ta'leef Collective
DESCRIPTION: \nJoin us Sunday nights at 5:30 p.m. from January 18\, 2026\, to February 15\, 2026\, for evenings of remembrance\, reflection\, and community\, as MCC East Bay temporarily hosts Ta’leef Collective’s long-running weekly Mawlid. \nSidi Mahdy Amine is our special guest speaker on Sunday\, January 25\, 2026. \nGather to connect your heart to the Prophet ﷺ\, to God\, and to God’s servants. This gathering has been lovingly sustained for over 20 years by dedicated volunteers\, munshids\, and teachers. Each week will feature reflections from esteemed guest teachers. Join us and keep the connections alive. \n5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Isha) | Sundays | Jan. 18 to Feb. 15 | MCC Conference Room | Please join in person or watch virtually at mcceastbay.org/live \nSponsored by Taleef Collective & MCC East Bay. \nAhead of Ramadan ’26\, MCC is temporarily hosting five weeks of Ta’leef Collective’s weekly Mawlid\, a beautiful gathering of community & remembrance that has been held for more than 20 years for the East Bay Muslim community. Please join us on: \n\nSunday\, January 18\, 2026\nSunday\, January 25\, 2026\nSunday\, February 1\, 2026\nSunday\, February 8\, 2026\nSunday\, February 15\, 2026\n\nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \nMahdy Amine is a Zaytuna College alumnus and practicing attorney. Ustadh Mahdi also teaches Islamic Studies at ILM Tree\, and he serves as Convert Care Coordinator for Ta’leef Collective. \n“I want people to feel the true beauty of Islam when they encounter Ta’leef. Was not our Prophet (upon him peace and blessings) the radiant embodiment of outer and inner beauty? One who saw him was in awe\, and one who knew him fell in love. I hope Taleef translates that experiential beauty to a relevant American context while honoring the ethos and principles of the rich Islamic tradition.” \n– More Ustadh Mahdi: https://mcceastbay.org/mahdy \nFrom Taleef: \nDear Ta’leef community\,\nAsalaamu alaykum.\nPeace and blessings to you all. \nWe invite you to join us this coming Sunday\, January 11th\, for the last Mawlid gathering in the Main Hall of our Fremont campus. Please bring your family and friends to fill the room as we honor 17 years of memories and look forward to the journey ahead. \nSince 2008\, this space has been a cherished sanctuary for Ta’leef\, holding countless memories of shahadas\, weddings\, and spiritual growth. This Sunday is a moment to gather in gratitude\, honoring all that this community has built here over nearly two decades. \nThe current property development plans for the building will necessitate our temporary relocation. Our landlord has generously offered to work with us to ensure a smooth transition\, including the potential use of the warehouse in the near future after construction. \nWe want to express our profound gratitude to our landlords. Their immense generosity has provided Ta’leef with a home in Fremont to serve our community for many years\, for which we pray that Allah rewards them immensely. \nIn the meantime\, MCC East Bay has graciously offered to temporarily host Ta’leef’s Mawlid for a few weeks beginning January 18th. \nMay Allah facilitate ease throughout this process\, and we look forward to gathering this Sunday to unite our hearts through the love of the Prophet (AS). \nWith gratitude\,\nThe Ta’leef Board of Directors
