SUMMARY:Muslim Singles Meet and Greet
DESCRIPTION:*Register Now*\n\n\n\n \nCalling all single sisters & brothers! Following the phenomenal success of our six previous quarterly HOD Live events at MCC\, we are thrilled to invite you again to HOD Live on Saturday\, Dec. 6\, 2025. This single event is not just a social gathering; it’s a proven pathway to meaningful connections. \n\n\n \nWhy HOD Live at MCC is Unmissable: \n\n\n \n\nRecord of Success: The last HOD Live event at MCC resulted in 65% of attendees finding a match. Due to the overwhelmingly positive reception and success rate\, we’ve asked Half Deen to return.\n\n\n\nSelective and Balanced Participation: Attendees are carefully selected to maintain a 1:1 male-to-female ratio and to match age preferences. This isn’t a walk-in event; it’s a curated experience with assigned seating based on compatibility.\n\n\n\nExclusive Opportunity for MCC Community: Before opening registration to the wider Half Deen community\, we give our MCC family a 24-hour head start to secure your spots. Remember\, spaces are limited\, and the demand is high.\n\n\n\nNational Appeal: With 24% of attendees traveling out of state\, HOD Live events have a nationwide draw. Don’t miss this chance to participate locally in an event nationally recognized for its success.\n\n\n\n \nUstadha Hina Khan Mukhtar will precede our quarterly matrimonial event with a workshop on what truly matters in a life partner: https://mcceastbay.org/event/singles-workshop-2 \nAct Quickly to Secure Your Spot \n\n\n \nI wanted to inform you about the event before Half Deen notifies its members so you can sign up.  To be part of this unique experience\, sign up promptly. If you’re within the sought-after age range\, Half Deen will reach out to confirm your participation. Delaying might mean missing out on this opportunity\, as others are eager to take available spots. \n\n\n \nAs a quick reminder\, attendees are selected based on a mutual age preference\, ensuring everyone present is within the age range most sought after by participants. This method ensures no attendee is placed awkwardly\, and the maximum age may vary for each event. This prioritizes comfort and compatibility over simply filling the room. This event is more than a chance to meet; it’s a step towards finding a compatible partner in a respectful\, Islamic setting. We’re excited to offer this again at MCC and look forward to another successful gathering. \n\n\n \nRegister now by clicking here or going to BabaAli.com and be part of our story of successful matches! \n \n\n\n \n \nAre you a single Muslim or Muslimah looking for the right partner to form a happy marriage? Then this event is for you. \n\n\n \nEvery four months\, MCC East Bay teams with the much-lauded Half Our Deen platform (and Baba Ali) to run a thoughtful\, fun\, private quarterly matrimonial event that is a profound departure from the tired traditional match-making session and that uses personality questions & fun activities to help our singles sisters and brothers get closer to finding a spouse. \n\n\n \nThis is an appropriately done matrimonial event – from thoughtfully screening every application\, an equal ratio of men to women\, and a fair chance for all to engage in a fun and exciting way through activities that melt the awkwardness of a singles mixer. This event is co-hosted with MCC\, and the event venue will be shared only with approved applicants. \n\n\n \n12:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. | Saturday\, Dec. 6 | MCC East Bay Conference Room | $100/person | Register at https://mcceastbay.org/singles \n\n\n \nIf you cannot make this event\, sign up for our notification list for the next quarterly event: https://mcceastbay.org/wait \n\n\n \nMCC has a standing policy that financial need should not hold a person back from benefiting from any event held in the MCC facility or cosponsored by MCC. To request a discounted or full financial waiver\, please visit https://mcceastbay.org/scholarship \n\n\n \nThis event breaks from ineffective speed-dating matrimonial events and traditional match-making. This game-oriented event caters to the need for more creative and effective ways to meet and learn about others. Many premarital and personality questions are incorporated into the event activities to allow for a quick dip into meaningful relationship questions. \n\n\n \nThe Bay is filled with Muslim singles\, and we will sell out. \nThe process\n\n\n \n1. Application Review Our team carefully reviews your registration form to understand your preferences\, including the maximum age you would consider for marriage.2. Matching Process We wait for other applicants to register to see if we have attendees within your specified age range.3. Confirmation If we find suitable matches within your age preference\, we will send you a payment request to confirm your seat. If you do not receive an email\, it means that not enough people within your specified age range applied for this event.Priority for Early Applicants Those who apply first get priority\, which is an advantage of applying early. Our events have limited seating\, typically accommodating 35-40 of each gender\, and we usually receive around 250 applicants per event. Our main goal is to create an environment where attendees are genuinely interested in each other\, ensuring a meaningful experience for everyone. If you have any further questions or need more information\, please feel free to reach out. We look forward to potentially having you join us! \nQuestions? muslimmarriageca@gmail.com or events@mcceastbay.org \n\n\n \nWhat to expect?\n\n\n \nFun \n\n\n \nWe don’t play musical chairs because relationships aren’t based on 3-minute conversations. So\, instead\, we have exclusive fun games and activities designed specifically for marriage-minded Muslims to help you naturally learn about each other. (Here is a sneak peek into an actual live event) \n\n\n \nFiltered \n\n\n \nWe are the only Muslim organization that filters our applicants and hand-picks every attendee. This allows us to select members most likely compatible and helps ensure we have a balanced number of men and women at every event. \n\n\n \nProven \n\n\n \n61% of the attendees at our last event found a match. No other single event even comes close to the success of HD Live\, so it’s no surprise that about 25% of attendees travel (including flights from outside the state and country) to attend this exclusive event. \n\n\n \nPrivate \n\n\n \nOur close-door events are at undisclosed locations because we take privacy very seriously. We believe that the only people that should know you’re attending the event are the people attending the event. In addition\, our HD Live app allows you to show interest without the fear of rejection since matches are privately sent at midnight and only if the interest is mutual. \n\n\n \nFAQs from MCC\n\n\n \nWho can register?\n\n\n \nThis event is designed for Muslim singles from Northern California to meet privately and casually. Space is limited. Muslims from all states can apply\, but priority will be given to singles residing in Northern California\, particularly the San Francisco Bay Area. If our single sisters and brothers give positive feedback\, MCC cohosts these matrimonial events quarterly. \n\n\n \nWho is the moderator?\n\n\n \nBaba Ali\, the co-founder of Half Our Deen\, is an Iranian-born American comedian\, game developer\, businessman\, and actor. He co-founded the revolutionary matchmaking site Half Our Deen\, an alternative to the Muslim dating apps we see today. He is also the founder of Ummah Films\, a Muslim film company that attempts to provide Halal entertainment to Muslims and non-Muslims. Baba Ali rose to prominence within the online Muslim community with Ummah Films\, which discusses various Islamic topics using humor. \n\n\n \nBaba Ali has traveled the world doing stand-up to a wide range of Muslim and non-Muslim audiences. He has performed all over the United States\, United Kingdom\, and Canada\, performing for audiences as large as 37\,000 and all ages. He has been reviewed in The New York Times\, USA Today\, and Los Angeles Times and featured in seven episodes of DirecTV’s The Fizz News. Ali Ardekani is a video blogger to his viewers as Baba Ali. \n \n\n\n \nWhy is MCC collaborating with Half Our Deen?\n\n\n \nHalf Our Deen is an expert in the Muslim matching department and has a system that works. Their website and offline match-making events use personality matching to help connect like-minded Muslims and create lasting matches. For the last 11 years\, the site has explicitly catered to marriage-minded Muslims and has over 2500+ success stories. Our event is modeled on their successful system. \n\n\n \nMCC East Bay is pleased to offer our single community in the Bay Area the ability to use Half Our Deen’s resources to search for a spouse. HOD is unique in its ability to offer personality testing\, high privacy standards\, and offline events\, which we believe will enhance the process for our single Muslims. \n\n\n \nEveryone deserves to find true love and happiness in marriage. MCC is privileged to be a part of your life story by helping to facilitate this chance to meet the right person! \n\n\n \nHow does it work?\n\n\n \n\nPlease fill out the brief application telling us about yourself and who you are looking for. You will receive an email with the following steps within a few days. Add muslimmarriageca@gmail.com to your contacts to prevent bouncebacks and spam/promotional archiving.\n\n\n\nIf your application is accepted\, you will need to register for the event and make your payment to secure your seat.\n\n\n\nThe event will take place at a private location near Pleasanton\, California. Exact location details will be provided only to accepted attendees before the event.\n\n\n\n \nQuestions? muslimmarriageca@gmail.com \n\n\n \nI cannot afford the registration fee.\n\n\n \nMCC has a standing policy that financial need should not hold a person back from benefiting from any event held in the MCC facility or cosponsored by MCC. To request a discounted or full financial waiver\, please visit https://mcceastbay.org/scholarship \n\n\n \nIs there an age limit?\n\n\n \nThere is no age limit. This event is for adults 18+. Your selection for the event depends on attendees in the same range apply for this event. \n\n\n \nTo increase the chances of successful matches\, we use a selection process to ensure quality and compatible candidates are in attendance. The goal is compatibility. For example\, if most applicants indicate that the maximum age they are looking for in a spouse is 40\, and you are older\, your application would not be accepted. However\, please don’t let this deter you from applying for our future events\, as acceptance criteria change based on who is used for each event. \n\n\n \nIs lunch offered?\n\n\n \nWe will have snacks\, coffee\, and tea. We will not have time for a full-fledged meal. Please ensure you have a hearty meal before the event begins at noon. \n\n\n \nWill I still receive confirmation of whether I am on the waiting list?\n\n\n \nIf it is determined that no compatible matches for you will be in attendance at the event\, you will be placed on a waiting list. As we receive more applications\, the criteria might change\, and there will be a chance that you are still invited to the event. We do our best to ask as many matches as possible to increase everyone’s chances of meeting the right person. If you still haven’t heard from us in the weeks leading up to the event\, no candidates have matched your criteria for this particular event. Please be patient and try again at another MCC matrimonial event (sign up for our newsletter at https://mcceastbay.org/newsletter). \n\n\n \nDo I need a HalfOurDeen membership to attend the event?\n\n\n \nYou do not need a membership with HalfOurDeen to apply for this event; however\, accepted applicants must complete their profile on HOD to attend. You will need a profile on HalfOurDeen to participate since a unique online/offline interaction characterizes this singles event. If you’re not already a member of HalfOurDeen\, that’s no problem. HalfOurDeen is providing a 90-day free trial membership for all MCC event attendees. Please note that your trial membership ends after 90 days\, so that you won’t be charged until the 31st. You can cancel right after the event if you choose. One particular advantage is that after meeting individuals at the event\, you can learn more about them through their online profiles before connecting. A HOD-free membership will allow you to view anyone’s profile that is also registered with the site. This way\, there is no need to exchange personal information at the event\, and all follow-up communication can be done safely through the HOD website after the event. \n\n\n \nHow do you screen applicants?\n\n\n \nDuring the application process\, applicants will answer a questionnaire that tells us a little about them and what they are looking for (or not looking for). Answers are then compared to the answers of all other applicants to determine who can attend to increase the chances for successful matches based on compatibility and personality matching. \n\n\n \nWhy was my application not accepted?\n\n\n \nTo increase the chances of successful matches\, we use a selection process to ensure quality and compatible candidates are in attendance. The goal is compatibility. For example\, if most applicants indicate that the maximum age they are looking for in a spouse is 40\, and you are older\, your application would not be accepted. However\, please don’t let this deter you from applying for our future events\, as acceptance criteria change based on who applies for each event. \n\n\n \nCan I bring a family member or a friend to the event?\n\n\n \nNo. This event is specifically tailored to the applicants who apply and are accepted based on the information provided during the application process. Everything from the games played to the seating chart is specific to those who have secured a spot. That is why only those who have applied and been accepted can attend. Moreover\, this is a private event\, and to protect the privacy of others\, only those who have been accepted will be given specific event details that must not be shared with anyone. Please encourage your friends who want to attend to apply! To keep this event as private as possible\, the candidates are the only people allowed to attend it. Our committee members will do their best to keep all interactions focused and constantly monitored throughout the event. \n\n\n \nWhat should I do if I haven’t received a confirmation email?\n\n\n \nIf you have not received a payment submission email after completing your application\, we are receiving a high volume of applications and are still processing them. If you still haven’t heard from us within 30 days of the event\, no candidates match your criteria at this particular event. If you have any questions about the selection process\, please watch this https://youtu.be/NqHiZXhWtcw \n\n\n \nHow is this event different from other Muslim matrimonial events that have taken place in NorCal?\n\n\n \nWe are making every effort to ensure that our event is done in a professionally organized manner that aligns with Islamic principles. Unlike other events\, we will thoroughly vet all applicants via a detailed application. This process will ensure that the attendees are serious about marriage and that there are enough attendees of the opposite gender potentially compatible with *you* and your preferences. We will try our best to have as close to a 50:50 ratio of females to males as possible. \n\n\n \nWe will have a wide variety of structured activities that will help you get to know the potential in a low-key\, pressure-free\, and fun way. Our activities will be structured so people of all personality types can easily participate. So whether introverted\, extroverted\, or somewhere in the middle\, you can participate in all the activities quickly—and\, more importantly\, get to know the potential in the process. You can also have the peace of mind of knowing that no one will have the spotlight on them at any time. \n\n\n \nTo keep in line with Islamic principles\, chaperones will constantly monitor our event\, ensuring that all interactions are kept professional and focused. They will also be there to help facilitate conversation and answer questions as necessary. \n\n\n \nCan I be sure that the information on my application will be kept private?\n\n\n \nAbsolutely. This is our Amanah (trust)\, and we will not release your information to anyone without your permission. Your application will only be reviewed by the HOD Offline staff. \n\n\n \nI am worried that others might discover I will be at this event. How will the event be kept private?\n\n\n \nThe only people who know that you will be at the event…are those at the event (and\, of course\, the people you tell). The MCC Matrimony Committee or HOD Offline will not inform anyone of your attendance. We are also keeping the event location private. Once you have fully registered and paid\, the venue address will only be sent to you. So please do not share the event location with anyone! \n\n\n \nIs there a dress code?\n\n\n \nOur only dress code is that your clothing must be by Islamic principles (clothes cannot be revealing\, tight\, or see-through). Other than that\, feel free to express your personality! Remember that you want to protect yourself best while remaining modest and genuine. \n\n\n \nI do not wear a headscarf in public. Do I have to wear one to the event?\n\n\n \nAlthough we highly encourage everyone to dress as closely as possible according to Islamic principles\, we will not ask that you wear a headscarf\, as the event is not in a masjid prayer space. That said\, anyone dressed inappropriately will not be allowed to participate in the event. \n\n\n \n\n\n \n—————————————————————————- \n\n\n \nHalf Deen Live Matrimonial Event – Pleasanton\, CA – Dec. 6\, 2025 \n\n\n \nIf you want to attend another speed-dating event\, this event is not for you.  Speed dating doesn’t work.  HOD Live does\, so the Muslim Community Center (MCC) and Muslim Marriage Canada are partnering up with HOD and bringing HOD Live to Pleasanton\, California\, on Dec. 6\, 2025! Read below for HOD’s unique match-making process.  \n\n\n \nAbout HOD: \n\n\n \nBeing interviewed for hours is both uncomfortable and awkward.  We do things differently\, and our results are different.  HOD’s last event resulted in 65% of the attendees finding a match. \n\n\n \nHOD Live is designed for marriage-minded Muslims who are serious about finding their other half.  Our events are filled with fun and unique activities and allow you to meet single Muslims more naturally. \n\n\n \nPlease watch the video below showing how the event will take place and how the application process will be.   This is a private event\, so the exact location of the event will be sent to all those who have a seat at the event.Every attendee will hand-pick to help increase compatibility and have an equal balance of men and women at the event.  Our focus is to invite those likely to succeed at this particular event. \n\n\n \nThe MCC and Muslim Marriage Canada are partnering up with Half Deen to bring you a Muslim Singles event using the HOD Live Process in Pleasanton\, CA\, on Dec. 6\, 2025. \n\n\n \nHere is how it works: \n\n\n \n1.  This event is by invitation ONLY.  Fill out the questionnaire below.  This helps us determine if you are a good fit for this event. \n\n\n \n2.  A member of our admin team will review your completed form.  After reviewing your application\, you will be sent a request for payment if they think you are a good fit for this event. \n\n\n \n3.  Once payment is received\,  you will receive a confirmation (within 24hrs) for your seat at the event as well as the exact location of the event. \n\n\n \n****The biggest incentive to signing up early is that you get priority seat selection.  This gives you the best opportunity to sit at the table of your preferred age range **** \n\n\n \nThe price to attend the Singles event is $100 US. \n\n\n \nIf we do not receive a payment response within 24 hours\, your seat will be forfeited and offered to the first person on the waiting list. \n\n\n \nPlease note that there are a limited number of seats for this event.  There are only 40 seats for each gender.  The most significant incentive for registering early is getting priority seating.   \n\n\n \nNote:  Our goal is to ensure a balanced male/female ratio\, so if you do not receive an immediate response\, it may be because we are trying to ensure gender registration is balanced.   \n\n\n \nIf you have any questions\, please email muslimmarriageca@gmail.com or WhatsApp – 1-647-535-2936 \n\n\n \nTo check out other upcoming HOD Live Events\, visit: www.babaali.com

The group can wait until 8:10 a.m.\, and then start the hike. Please be on time since we cannot hold the group.\nCarpool: We highly recommend carpooling. No carpool from MCC is available for this hike. \nParking: $4\nMeeting Point: Ohlone College Parking Structure\nTrail: Mission Peak from Ohlone College\nDistance: Around 8.1 miles.\nDifficulty: Hard.\nMisc: Pack a snack and water for yourself. Please download the All Trails map (free version) if you decide to return in the middle of the hike. This will be very helpful when navigating back to the parking lot.\nRSVP: By Friday\, December 12\, please let us know you are coming for this hike: https://mcceastbay.org/brothers-hike\n\nMohammed Kadoura leads these monthly hikes for the brothers. This gradual route is a less-strenuous option for hiking to the top of the popular East Bay peak. \nIt starts from the parking lot at Ohlone College along Mission Boulevard in Fremont\, California. Just one trail — the aptly named Peak Trail — curves and climbs its way to the 2\,517-foot summit of Mission Peak. (From the parking lot\, look for a sign pointing to Ohlone Trail). \nAbundant parking at Ohlone College on the weekend makes this trailhead a welcome alternative to the Stanford Avenue entrance which fills quickly. There’s also a bit more shade on this route compared to other trails to the summit.  \nImpressive views of the Diablo Range and San Francisco Bay open up on the way up. Don’t be surprised if you see deer and coyotes the ground and raptors and vultures soaring overhead. \nBest time to go: Springtime when the hills are green and the wildflowers are blooming. Winter’s the next-best time\, especially if the peak gets a dusting of snow. Fall is OK; summer’s too hot during the day\, but many hikers hit the summit at sunset and hike down after dark (best done under a full moon). \nNO bikes are allowed on this trail.

DESCRIPTION:For Sisters: Join us for a special gathering with Shannon Staloch\, a licensed midwife and longtime community advocate\, as she shares heartfelt reflections on support\, belonging\, and the unique experiences of New Muslims. Shannon will speak about the importance of midwifery and the role it has played in her own spiritual journey as a convert of over 20 years. \nShe will also read from her beautifully written new memoir\, Born Far From Home: A Midwife’s Search for Meaning\, a moving exploration of faith\, service\, and identity. \nThis event is perfect for all women\, and especially meaningful for converts seeking connection\, inspiration\, and shared experience. \nSaturday\, Dec. 20 | 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. | MCC Conference Room | Sisters Only | Join us in-person or virtually at mcceastbay.org/live | Register at mcceastbay.org/meaning \nCo-sponsored by The Rahmah Foundation \nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \nAbout the Speaker\nShannon Staloch became a licensed midwife in 2008. Since then\, she has attended over 800 births and established the popular home birth practice\, Midwives Bay Area. Born Far From Home is her first book. Shannon resides in Berkeley\, California\, and still takes daily walks or runs in its beautiful hills.\n \nAbout The Book\, Born Far From Home\nA new Muslim\, Shannon Staloch\, moves to California to live near a community studying traditional Islam and finds herself learning another venerable tradition\, midwifery. In this intricately woven memoir\, Shannon braids the intimate moments from the birth stories of a diverse cast of women with the reflections of great thinkers from the Islamic and Western traditions—from the spiritual master Imam al-Ghazali to the British obstetrician Grantly Dick Read\, from Plato to Malcolm X—as she traces her journey of finding belonging and an enduring path to truth in her new faith. Birth by birth\, Shannon approaches a deeper understanding of her craft and herself\, aiming for a place that transcends identity\, buoyed by the belief that dedication to a craft can shape not just the hands of a craftswoman but also her soul. \n“Shannon Staloch effortlessly weaves ancient childbirth lore with the stories of births she attends\, and relates them to her deepening faith in an equally ancient religion…beautiful\, elegiac\, transformative.” Peggy Vincent\, bestselling author of Baby Catcher: Chronicles of a Modern Midwife

This recognition enlightens us and deepens our knowledge of his teachings. \n\n– Past mawlid celebrations at MCC: http://mcceastbay.org/mawlid\n\nAbout the Book\, “The Kingdom of the Heart”\n“Within every human being is a Kingdom. The heart is the ruler of this Kingdom\, and the rest of the body is its subjects. If the heart rules with justice and excellence\, the body will perform good actions\, and the Kingdom will flourish. If the heart neglects its duties\, the body will disobey Allah\, and the entire Kingdom will suffer the consequences. Allah ﷻ made this Kingdom so crucial that through it the eternal and everlasting dominion of the next life is either gained or lost.” The Kingdom of the Heart by Habib ‘Umar Bin Hafiz gives the reader a deeper understanding of the importance of cultivating the spiritual kingdom of the heart. Readers will gain a deeper appreciation of how outward actions have spiritual consequences. Some of the topics covered are: • The Tongue & Its Effects • Looking at Creation with Love & Mercy • The Impact of Shaking Hands • Attending to the Ending of Our Lives • The Impact of Intention This book uniquely shows the direct correlation between outward actions and the heart\, giving us insights into how various actions impact the state of our hearts. Ultimately\, it gives us a way to internalize the wisdom and purpose of acts of devotion\, resulting in the purification of the heart and nearness to Allah ﷻ. \nAbout the Author\nHabib Umar bin Hafiz (Arabic: حبيب عمر بن حفيظ\, romanized: Ḥabīb ʿUmar bin Ḥafīẓ; Arabic pronunciation: [ħabiːb ʕumar bin ħafiːðˤ]; born 27 May 1963) is a Yemeni Sunni and Sufi Islamic scholar\, teacher\, and founder and dean of Dar al-Mustafa Islamic seminary.[3] He is also a Supreme Advisory Council member for the Tabah Foundation in Abu Dhabi. \nUstadh Tariq Samady\nUstadh Tariq Samady is a native of the Bay Area with roots in the ancient city of Kabul. He has been a lifelong seeker of Islamic knowledge\, learning from a wide range of Muslim scholars\, both local and international. With the blessings of his teachers\, he has contributed to various educational programs and gatherings of dhikr. \nHis research and editing interests span Qur’an and Hadith commentaries\, Philology\, Spirituality\, and Persian Poetry. Tariq is the founder of Circles of Light (حلق النور)\, a fledgling educational initiative focused on sharing sacred learnings and wisdom for the community’s benefit. He studied Computer Science at California State University—East Bay and has over ten years of experience as a Developer and Analytics QA Engineer. \nAbout Circles of Light\nCircles of Light is a fledgling educational initiative focused on sharing sacred learnings and wisdom for the benefit of the community\, meant to assist in maximizing Dunya (this life) for our Deen (Faith). He gives wisdom to whomever He wills. Whoever is given wisdom has been given much good. But none pays heed except those with insight. (Quran). We are motivated by the words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); the most beloved people to Allah are those most beneficial to the people. (Hadith). We seek to achieve this aim through our in-person educational programs and publications. \nAlmighty Allah ﷻ directs us in Sūratul Aḥzāb\, “Verily\, Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Messenger of Allah. You who believe invoke blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation.” Our purpose of invoking blessings upon the Beloved ﷺ leads to proximity to Almighty Allah ﷻ by obeying this command while simultaneously fulfilling our rights upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It is crystal clear how vital the invocation of Ṣalawāt is for the believer\, and it is a Mercy of Almighty Allah ﷻ for its rewards to be multitudinous. Abundant Ṣalawāt upon the Beloved ﷺ leads to loving him and knowing his beautiful qualities. By that virtue\, degrees of purity are realized. From the signs of the people of the Sunnah is sending Ṣalawāt upon him\, for the key to all goodness is Ṣalawāt upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. \n\n– More Sidi Tariq Samady: http://mcceastbay.org/tariq\n– More Tri-Valley and East Bay Mawlid celebrations: https://mcceastbay.org/mawlid\n– More about celebrating the Prophet (peace be upon him)’s day of birth: https://seekersguidance.org/answers/general-counsel/innovation-bida-and-celebrating-the-prophets-birthday-mawlid\n– More sessions about “The Kingdom of the Heart”: http://mcceastbay.org/kingdom

SUMMARY:Community Dua For Protection From Earthquakes: Humility in the Face of Tribulation | Sidi Quran Hodge
DESCRIPTION:\n“Our Lord relieve us of the torment. Lo! we are believers!” (The Smoke 44:12) \nDuring our monthly Mawlid gathering at MCC on Saturday evening\, an earthquake struck\, one of a swarm of recent quakes that have hit in nearby San Ramon. \nNearly 150 tremors have struck in the Bay Area in the past month. \nThe Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) encouraged us to turn to Allah and to ask for His help during such disasters. Earthquakes are among the natural events that shake us the most amid life’s uncertainties. \nTomorrow afternoon\, we come together asking for forgiveness & refuge in Allah. Join us to soothe the anxiety in our hearts and to beseech Allah through special supplications. \nAfter the congregational Zuhr prayer (12:30 p.m.) tomorrow\, Sunday\, Dec. 21\, Ustadh Quran Hodge will lead us in worship and reflections. \nAfter we welcome a young man entering the fold of Islam\, we will pray together two rakats of the Prayer of Need (Salat al-Haja). We will then reflect on the weight of the moment we are in. \nJoin us as we approach Allah with our prayers\, trusting in Him in the face of any calamity that may befall us in this world. Finding community in faith at this time will give us confidence and peace. \n\n \nDua for Protection from Earthquakes \nاَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ \nO Allah\, I seek refuge in Your greatness from being swallowed up from beneath me. \nاَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ التَّرَدِّيْ وَالْهَدْمِ \nO Allah\, I seek refuge with You from being thrown from a high place or crushed beneath a falling wall \n[Sunan an-Nasa’i: 5529\, Sunan an-Nasa’i: 5531] \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe Are Now in Rajab!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLevel up now in the Month of Forgiveness as we near Ramadan!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImam Shafi’i (rahimahullah) has stated: \n“I have heard that Almighty Allah accepts du’as on five nights: \n\nThe night of Jumu’ah\,\nThe night of Eid al-Fitr\nThe night of Eid al-Adha\nThe first night of Rajab\,\nThe middle (15th) night of Shaban”\n\n(al-Umm\, vol. 2\, pg. 485)

Join Ustadha Hosai Mojaddidi and Shaykh Noman Hussain to strengthen Iman\, deepen understanding\, and reconnect with timeless guidance that anchors the heart and mind. \n 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. | Friday\, January 9\, 2026 | MCC Prayer Hall | Join in person or watch virtually at mcceastbay.org/live  \nDue to a family need\, Mufti Abdul Rahman Waheed could not make it as originally planned. \nSponsored by Miftaah Institute & MCC East Bay.\n\nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org  \nUstadha Hosai is the co-founder of MH4M (http://mentalhealth4muslims.com)\, established in 2010. For nearly 20 years\, she has been actively involved in the Bay Area and southern California Muslim community\, working and volunteering for many notable organizations. Learn more about her at http://hosaimojaddidi.com \n– More Ustadha Hosai: http://mcceastbay.org/hosai \nUstadha Hosai Mojaddidi was born in Afghanistan and moved to the United States with her family at age two. She credits her Islamic journey to the year 1996 when she began attending Islamic classes in Hayward\, California. These classes were taught by her teacher and mentor since then; Shaykh Hamza Yusuf. \nOne of her main areas of focus is to help create a strong sisterhood for the women in the community by leading halaqas (spiritual study circles) and support groups whilst offering individual spiritual counseling and mentoring. She noted that many of the spiritual problems encountered were actually reflective of the deep and complicated mental health issues of the community and would be better served by focusing on mental health. Thus\, along with her cousin Dr. Nafisa Sekandari\, they co-founded a website called Mental Health 4 Muslims (www.mentalhealth4muslims.com). \nUstadha Hosai is also a freelance writer and editor and lectures on various Islamic/spiritual topics. \nQari Noman Hussain serves as the Associate Director and a faculty member at the Qalam Seminary. He was born and raised in Chicago\, IL. Upon completing the memorization of the Quran\, Qari Noman traveled to South Africa to further his education in the Islamic sciences at Darul Uloom Zakariyya. Graduating at the top of his class in 2009\, he earned authorizations (ijazāt) in several Islamic sciences\, specializing in Quranic sciences such as tajwīd and the ʿasharah qirāʾāt (ten modes of recitation). \nFor the past 15 years\, Qari Noman has dedicated himself to serving the Chicago and Milwaukee communities. In addition to his roles as an Imam and Resident Scholar\, he has served as a hifẓ teacher\, high school instructor\, chaplain\, and leader of interfaith groups and civic coalitions. Qari Noman is also the founder of Oasis Chicago\, a space committed to creating social-spiritual experiences for young professionals and families.
