SUMMARY:Mawlid: Hearts Connected | Ta'leef Collective
DESCRIPTION:Join us Sunday nights at 5:30 p.m. from April 5th to April 19th for evenings of remembrance\, reflection\, and community as MCC East Bay temporarily hosts Ta’leef Collective’s weekly Mawlids. \nGather to connect your heart to the Prophet ﷺ\, to God\, and to God’s servants. This gathering has been lovingly sustained for over 20 years by dedicated volunteers\, munshids\, and teachers. Each week will feature reflections from esteemed guest teachers. Join us and keep the connections alive. \n5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. | Sundays | April 5\, April 12\, April 19 | MCC Conference Room | In-person only or watch virtually at mcceastbay.org/live \nSponsored by Taleef Collective & MCC East Bay. \nAhead of Ramadan ’26\, MCC is temporarily hosting five weeks of Ta’leef Collective’s weekly Mawlid\, a beautiful gathering of community & remembrance that has been held for more than 20 years for the East Bay Muslim community. Please join us on: \n\nSunday\, April 5th – Special guest Sidi Syed Mubeen Saifullah\nSunday\, April 12th – Special guest Imam Zaid Shakir\nSunday\, April 19th – Special guest\n\nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \n“I want people to feel the true beauty of Islam when they encounter Ta’leef. Was not our Prophet (upon him peace and blessings) the radiant embodiment of outer and inner beauty? One who saw him was in awe\, and one who knew him fell in love. I hope Taleef translates that experiential beauty to a relevant American context while honoring the ethos and principles of the rich Islamic tradition.” \nFrom Taleef: \nDear Ta’leef community\,\nAsalaamu alaykum.\nPeace and blessings to you all. \nWe invite you to join us this coming Sunday\, January 11th\, for the last Mawlid gathering in the Main Hall of our Fremont campus. Please bring your family and friends to fill the room as we honor 17 years of memories and look forward to the journey ahead. \nSince 2008\, this space has been a cherished sanctuary for Ta’leef\, holding countless memories of shahadas\, weddings\, and spiritual growth. This Sunday is a moment to gather in gratitude\, honoring all that this community has built here over nearly two decades. \nThe current property development plans for the building will necessitate our temporary relocation. Our landlord has generously offered to work with us to ensure a smooth transition\, including the potential use of the warehouse in the near future after construction. \nWe want to express our profound gratitude to our landlords. Their immense generosity has provided Ta’leef with a home in Fremont to serve our community for many years\, for which we pray that Allah rewards them immensely. \nIn the meantime\, MCC East Bay has graciously offered to temporarily host Ta’leef’s Mawlid for a few weeks beginning January 18th. \nMay Allah facilitate ease throughout this process\, and we look forward to gathering this Sunday to unite our hearts through the love of the Prophet (AS). \nWith gratitude\,\nThe Ta’leef Board of Directors \n

SUMMARY:Ride Your Bike to MCC Jumu'ah & Get a Free iniBurger Meal
DESCRIPTION:As MCC continues to grapple with heavy parking congestion at its weekly Jumu’ah services\, starting this Friday\, April 17\, 2026\, we’re excited to offer a special incentive for community members who choose to ride their bikes to the mosque. \nTo help reduce traffic and make things easier for everyone\, we’re encouraging biking as a great alternative. \nAs a thank-you to any worshiper attending the 1:30 p.m.\, 2:30 p.m.\, or 3:40 p.m. service\, the first 20 attendees each Friday who bike to the mosque will receive a complimentary Iniburger meal card good for a complimentary B’igi Burger combo. \nGift cards can be picked up from the Operations Office. Just let our staff member know that you rode your bicycle. Remember to wear your helmet! Please safely park your bike in front of the women’s entrance. \nThis promotion is sponsored by concerned MCC community members who do not want to see MCC’s critical conditional use permit jeopardized and who are appealing to our beloved congregation to attend the weekly off-site auxiliary Jumu’ah or to begin biking to MCC Jumu’ah instead of driving. \nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \n\n \n \n

This recognition enlightens us and deepens our knowledge of his teachings. \n\n– Past mawlid celebrations at MCC: http://mcceastbay.org/mawlid\n\nAbout the Book\, “The Kingdom of the Heart”\n“Within every human being is a Kingdom. The heart is the ruler of this Kingdom\, and the rest of the body is its subjects. If the heart rules with justice and excellence\, the body will perform good actions\, and the Kingdom will flourish. If the heart neglects its duties\, the body will disobey Allah\, and the entire Kingdom will suffer the consequences. Allah ﷻ made this Kingdom so crucial that through it the eternal and everlasting dominion of the next life is either gained or lost.” The Kingdom of the Heart by Habib ‘Umar Bin Hafiz gives the reader a deeper understanding of the importance of cultivating the spiritual kingdom of the heart. Readers will gain a deeper appreciation of how outward actions have spiritual consequences. Some of the topics covered are: • The Tongue & Its Effects • Looking at Creation with Love & Mercy • The Impact of Shaking Hands • Attending to the Ending of Our Lives • The Impact of Intention This book uniquely shows the direct correlation between outward actions and the heart\, giving us insights into how various actions impact the state of our hearts. Ultimately\, it gives us a way to internalize the wisdom and purpose of acts of devotion\, resulting in the purification of the heart and nearness to Allah ﷻ. \nAbout the Author\nHabib Umar bin Hafiz (Arabic: حبيب عمر بن حفيظ\, romanized: Ḥabīb ʿUmar bin Ḥafīẓ; Arabic pronunciation: [ħabiːb ʕumar bin ħafiːðˤ]; born 27 May 1963) is a Yemeni Sunni and Sufi Islamic scholar\, teacher\, and founder and dean of Dar al-Mustafa Islamic seminary.[3] He is also a Supreme Advisory Council member for the Tabah Foundation in Abu Dhabi. \nUstadh Tariq Samady\nUstadh Tariq Samady is a native of the Bay Area with roots in the ancient city of Kabul. He has been a lifelong seeker of Islamic knowledge\, learning from a wide range of Muslim scholars\, both local and international. With the blessings of his teachers\, he has contributed to various educational programs and gatherings of dhikr. \nHis research and editing interests span Qur’an and Hadith commentaries\, Philology\, Spirituality\, and Persian Poetry. Tariq is the founder of Circles of Light (حلق النور)\, a fledgling educational initiative focused on sharing sacred learnings and wisdom for the community’s benefit. He studied Computer Science at California State University—East Bay and has over ten years of experience as a Developer and Analytics QA Engineer. \nAbout Circles of Light\nCircles of Light is a fledgling educational initiative focused on sharing sacred learnings and wisdom for the benefit of the community\, meant to assist in maximizing Dunya (this life) for our Deen (Faith). He gives wisdom to whomever He wills. Whoever is given wisdom has been given much good. But none pays heed except those with insight. (Quran). We are motivated by the words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); the most beloved people to Allah are those most beneficial to the people. (Hadith). We seek to achieve this aim through our in-person educational programs and publications. \nAlmighty Allah ﷻ directs us in Sūratul Aḥzāb\, “Verily\, Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Messenger of Allah. You who believe invoke blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation.” Our purpose of invoking blessings upon the Beloved ﷺ leads to proximity to Almighty Allah ﷻ by obeying this command while simultaneously fulfilling our rights upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It is crystal clear how vital the invocation of Ṣalawāt is for the believer\, and it is a Mercy of Almighty Allah ﷻ for its rewards to be multitudinous. Abundant Ṣalawāt upon the Beloved ﷺ leads to loving him and knowing his beautiful qualities. By that virtue\, degrees of purity are realized. From the signs of the people of the Sunnah is sending Ṣalawāt upon him\, for the key to all goodness is Ṣalawāt upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. \n\n– More Sidi Tariq Samady: http://mcceastbay.org/tariq\n– More Tri-Valley and East Bay Mawlid celebrations: https://mcceastbay.org/mawlid\n– More about celebrating the Prophet (peace be upon him)’s day of birth: https://seekersguidance.org/answers/general-counsel/innovation-bida-and-celebrating-the-prophets-birthday-mawlid\n– More sessions about “The Kingdom of the Heart”: http://mcceastbay.org/kingdom

Pack lunch and snacks for the trail. Wear shoes with a solid grip\, bring layers\, and expect to get wet near the falls.\nRSVP: By Sunday\, April 19\, please RSVP at mcceastbay.org/brothers-hike\n\nLogistics \n\nBrothers ages 18+ only.\nMeet at MCC for Fajr at 5:30 AM\, then we carpool straight to Yosemite — no stops\, so bring breakfast and coffee for the road.\nWe’re hiking the Mist Trail to Vernal and Nevada Falls. Two massive waterfalls\, 2\,158 ft of elevation gain\, ~5 hours. AllTrails rates it hard.\nWhat to bring:\n\nBreakfast & coffee for the drive\nLunch and snacks for the trail\nShoes with a solid grip — the rocks get slippery near the falls\nLayers — it gets wet up there\n\n\nParking at Yosemite can be limited. We’ll park wherever available in the valley and take the free shuttle to the trailhead. Plan to meet at the trailhead by a set time — more details to come.\nBrother Mohammad Kaddoura & Brother Din lead this special hike that will build fraternity amongst our congregation.\n\nAbout this trail: \nHike to two breathtaking waterfalls along some of Yosemite Valley’s most popular hiking trails. If you only have time for one hike while in Yosemite\, look no further – the Mist Trail is the hike for you. It is no wonder that this trail is one of the most traveled in Yosemite National Park. You will hike so close to these two massive waterfalls that you may get wet from the trail. The best time to hike this trail is in Spring or early Summer\, while the snow runoff is high and the falls are full of water. \nThe Mist Trail starts at Happy Isles Trailhead (YARTS Happy Isles shuttle stop #16\, and is within walking distance of Curry Village and the parking lot). The park recommends starting early to avoid the larger crowds. After a brief stroll along the river\, you climb a pretty steep initial ascent over stone steps until you reach the footbridge\, which offers the first glimpse of Vernal Falls in the distance. You will also find a water fountain and restrooms. You will then continue up to Vernal Falls\, past Emerald Pool\, and alongside Nevada Falls until you reach the high point of this hike. \nYou can choose to take the alternate route down along the John Muir Trail to see great views of Nevada Falls and Liberty Cap in the distance before meeting back up with the Mist Trail near the footbridge. This route back is slightly longer\, but offers a change of scenery and is easier on the knees. Before hopping back on the YARTS shuttle\, treat yourself to some ice cream or a refreshing drink at the small stand\, or head over to Curry Village for a wider selection. \nIn the 19th century\, Yosemite National Park was served by Buffalo Soldiers\, former Black regiments of the US Army. These men became the first Black national park rangers and backcountry rangers\, tasked with fighting fires\, preventing poaching\, and helping create the trails that millions of people explore each year. \n  \nMohammed Kadoura leads these monthly hikes for the brothers. If you have trouble finding the group on the day of the hike\, please call or text Br. Mohammed at (617) 935-7347. Please remember that we cannot hold the group\, so we request that you arrive on time. \nAbout Mohammed Kaddoura\nMohammed lives with his family in the Tri-Valley area and works in data analytics. He has been an active member of the MCC community for nearly three years\, organizing a weekly book club and a monthly men’s hiking group. He believes in the power of shared stories and genuine conversation\, and is drawn to spaces where people come together around ideas that matter. In his free time\, Mohammed enjoys running\, baking\, and spending time outdoors. \nFor future hikes\, please subscribe to the MCC newsletter and add your phone number to the Men’s Hiking WhatsApp group. \nPlease wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes\, carry a water bottle\, a small snack\, a hat\, sunglasses\, and hiking poles if you have any.  \nQuestions? hiking@mcceastbay.org
