She converted to Islam more than 20 years ago after being a Youth Ambassador to Morrocco and Senegal. There she developed a thirst for knowledge that would cause her to sit at the feet and learn from some of the top Islamic Scholars of our time. After participating in several circles of knowledge in the US\, Ieasha pursued religious studies abroad. She studied Arabic and Quran at the Fajr Institute in Cairo\, Egypt. Later\, she moved to Hadramaut\, Yemen\, and enrolled in Dar al Zahra\, an Islamic University for Women. There she studied Aqeedah\, Quran\, Hadith\, Arabic\, Jurisprudence (Fiqh)\, Islamic law\, Purification of the Heart\, and other religious-related learning. She has received several scholarly licenses (ijaza). The work that she is most committed to and enjoys has been the development of Islamic programming\, Islamic Studies curriculum\, and Rites of Passage programs for youth and adults. The majority of her life has been spent as an educator and activist. She is most passionate about combining Islamic studies\, cultural art\, activism\, and service to train leaders to rise above whatever challenges stand in their way and that of the community they serve. In addition to her full-time work\, she is the co-founder and Executive Director of Barakah INC\, an organization committed to training Muslim women in traditional Islamic sciences with a focus on modern application. Sister Ieasha is recently known for participating in the National Women’s March and the courses she teaches on traditional knowledge\, the challenges of race and gender in the Muslim community\, and Spirituality. Ieasha Prime is a proud wife and mother of three children. \n\n\n\nUstadha Dr. Rania Awaad\, M.D.\, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Stanford University School of Medicine. She is the Director of the Muslim Mental Health Lab and Wellness Program and the Director of the Diversity Clinic. She pursued her psychiatric residency training at Stanford and completed a postdoctoral clinical research fellowship with the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Her research and clinical work are focused on the mental health needs of Muslims. Her courses at Stanford range from teaching a pioneering study on Islamic Psychology\, instructing medical students and residents on implicit bias\, and integrating culture and religion into medical care to teaching undergraduate and graduate students the psychology of xenophobia. Her most recent academic publications include an edited volume on “Islamophobia and Psychiatry” (Springer\, 2019)\, Islamic Psychology (Routledge\, 2020)\, and an upcoming text on Muslim Mental Health. She has also produced a toolkit\, fact sheet\, and CME course and is now editing a clinical textbook on Muslim mental health for the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Awaad is particularly passionate about uncovering the historical roots of mental health care in the Islamic intellectual heritage. Through her outreach work at Stanford\, she is also the Clinical Director of the San Francisco Bay Area branches of the Khalil Center\, a spiritual wellness center pioneering the application of traditional Islamic spiritual healing methods to modern clinical psychology. She has been the recipient of several awards and grants for her work. Before studying medicine\, she pursued classical Islamic studies in Damascus\, Syria\, and holds certifications (ijaza) in the Qur’an\, Islamic Law\, and other branches of the Islamic Sciences. Dr. Awaad has also served as the first female Professor of Islamic Law at Zaytuna College\, a Muslim Liberal Arts College in Berkeley\, CA\, where she taught courses on Shafi’i Fiqh and Women’s Fiqh and Qur’anic sciences for nearly a decade. Learn more about her at http://hosaimojaddidi.co \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nUstadha Shamira Chothia Ahmed: Born and raised in California’s Central Valley\, Shamira Chothia Ahmed is passionate about educating and empowering Muslim women to reach their highest spiritual potential through acquiring sacred knowledge. \n\n\n\nHaving graduated as valedictorian from a large public high school\, her studies led her — following a brief soul-searching stint at Georgetown University — to seek sacred knowledge from scholars on three continents — Africa\, Europe\, and Asia. \n\n\n\nUstadha Shamira began her journey in seeking sacred knowledge at the women’s Dar-ul-Uloom Mu’eenal Islam seminary in South Africa and completed the five-year intensive ‘alima programs at Ja’mia Al-Imam Muhammad Zakariyya\, one of Britain’s first and most renowned Islamic universities for women. Thereafter\, she continued her Arabic and Qur’anic studies in Damascus\, Syria where she obtained an ijāzah in Tajwīd of the Ḥafṣ recitation from the late eminent Syrian scholar\, Shaykh Ḥasan al-Kurdī. \n\n\n\nIn 2005\, Ustadha Shamira taught Hanafi fiqh for women at the Zaytuna Institute in California and since then has taught various Islamic sciences in venues across North America. In 2008\, she earned a Master’s Degree in Demographics and Social Analysis from the University of California at Irvine\, focusing on the identity formation of the Muslim-American population. \n\n\n\nIn 2013\, Ustadha Shamira specialized in the detailed rulings of menstruation\, lochia\, and abnormal discharge under the direction of Mufti Abdur Rahman Ibn Yusuf Mangera and assisted in compiling Imam Abu Hanifa’s Al-Fiqh al-Akbar Explained. \n\n\n\nAs a wife and mother of five children\, Shamira has a passion for empowering women in their childbearing years to gain closeness to their Lord through her spiritual birth consultations and virtual doula services. \n\n\n\nUstadha Shamira is a co-founder of the Rahmah Foundation and currently teaches for Nur al-Iman\, a full-time girls shariah program with Ustadha Mona Elzankaly based in the Bay Area.

After graduating from American High School in 2010\, she began her pursuit of Islamic knowledge by learning the Arabic language and eventually traveled to South Africa with her husband\, Muftī Rohullah. Ustādhah Safiyyah completed a five-year course at the girls’ institute\, Miftāh al-Ūloom\, and was granted certification in the Islamic sciences\, such as the Arabic language\, fiqh\, tafsīr\, ʿaqīdah\, ʾusūl\, and ḥadīth. During this time\, she also completed and received certification in the six main books of ḥadīth\, al-ṣiḥāḥ al-sittah\, including the Ṣaḥīḥayn (Bukhārī and Muslim). Upon returning to the US in 2016\, Ustādhah has been serving the Bay Area community by presenting various lectures\, classes\, and youth programs under the auspices of the A’ishah Institute. \n\n\n\nUstadha Ammarah was born and raised in Los Angeles\, CA. At a young age\, she traveled to England to pursue an Alimiyyah degree in Islamic Sciences. Over the next 6 years\, she studied Tafsir\, Hadith\, Fiqh\, Aqeedah\, Usul (foundations of jurisprudence)\, and Arabic Grammar and gained guidance from many esteemed scholars of England. During this time\, she received ijazaat from scholars in the Islamic Sciences with isnād (a linked chain of the prophetic traditions from herself to the Prophet) in numerous books of hadith. Since then\, she has been involved in teaching Islamic Studies and lecturing in various mosques across the Bay Area. \n\n\n\nWasilah’s Mission \n\n\n\nOur mission is to provide holistic support for individuals facing mental\, emotional\, financial\, and personal challenges by building\, facilitating\, and connecting individuals to resources to offer short and long-term solutions to overcome their challenges strategically. He is an expert on political communications\, media relations\, and anti-Islam prejudice in the United States\, with over two decades of experience. \n\n\n\nThe Wall Street Journal\, the New York Times\, and the Washington Post have sought his opinions. He has appeared on outlets ranging from Fox News to CNN\, the BBC\, and Al Jazeera. \n\n\n\nSaylor has run successful advocacy campaigns against corporate giants such as Burger King and Bell Helicopter-Boeing. \n\n\n\nHe has been active in combatting the Muslim Ban\, anti-Islam legislation nationwide\, and removing biased and inaccurate materials from law enforcement counterterrorism trainings. Raised in the Hindu tradition\, he embraced Islam in 2001 while studying at the University of Toronto\, where he completed his Bachelor of Business Administration. He then traveled overseas in 2005 to study the Arabic language and Islamic sciences in Tarim\, Yemen\, and Darul Uloom in Trinidad\, West Indies. He spent 12 years in Amman\, Jordan\, focusing on Islamic Law\, Theology\, Hadith Sciences\, Prophetic Biography\, and Islamic Spirituality while also serving as Director of Programs at the Qasid Arabic Institute. He holds a BA in Islamic Studies (Alimiyya)\, authorization in the six authentic books of Hadith\, and has studied one year of specialized training in issuing Islamic legal verdicts (Ifta’). He also holds a certificate in Islamic Counselling and often works with those with religious obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD/waswasa). He is an instructor and researcher in the Islamic Sciences and has taught online and in person for several learning institutes and organizations. He is the author of the Seerah Song\, the first complete Seerah poem written in rhyming English verse to be used as a teaching tool\, performed by Zain Bhikha. At Zaytuna College\, he has taught Kalam Theology\, Creedal Theology\, Prophetic Biography\, Readings in Muslim Spirituality\, and Logic in the Islamic Tradition. Shaykh Faraz also serves as the coordinator of the Honors Program\, in which he has taught Kalam\, Prophetic Biography\, Logic\, Tafsir\, and Hadith. After completing undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin\, he moved to Amman\, Jordan\, in 2004 and read classical texts with distinguished scholars in Ashʿarī and Māturīdī scholastic theology\, Hanafi jurisprudence\, prophetic narration\, logic\, and other religious sciences\, receiving scholarly authorization (ijāza) after seven years of full-time study. \n\n\n\nRaised in Morocco\, Qari Amar Bellaha memorized the Qur’an at 17 from Madrasat Imam Nafia. He has ijaza for the Hafs and Warsh forms of Qur’anic recitation. In 1994 and 1995\, he was awarded top prizes in the National Moroccan Tajweed competition. He is recognized internationally for his recitation’s beauty\, clarity\, and excellence and is one of the Bay area’s foremost Qur’an teachers. Hafiz Amar leads MCC’s Taraweeh prayers each Ramadan. \n\n\n\nAmu Tareef is an international scholar who studied traditional Islamic Sciences at Al-Fath Institute\, al-Azhar branch in Syria. Affectionately known to the community as ‘Ammu (or Uncle)\, he was born and reared in Damascus\, Syria. His teachers include Shaykh Abdul Rahman al-Shaghuri\, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf\, Shaykh Dr. Mustafa al-Khin\, and Shaykh Dr. Samer al-Nass. \n\n\n\nMahdy Amine is a Zaytuna College alumnus and practicing attorney. He also teaches Islamic Studies at ILM Tree and serves as Convert Care Coordinator for Ta’leef Collective.

DESCRIPTION:“If people knew the reward in praying Fajr & Isha in a congregation\, they would go to the Masjid even if they had to crawl” [Bukhari & Muslim] \nJoin Qari Amar Bellaha on the first Sunday of each month. Pray the pre-dawn prayer in congregation (6 a.m.)\, followed by recitations of Surah Yaseen and Al-Wird Al-Latif (booklets provided) in unison\, community dua\, and following sunup\, Salat al-Ishraq prayer in congregation. \nQari Amar will also lead the Khatam (completion) of the Qur’an. Each month\, congregation members complete one Juz of the Holy Qur’an. Please finish your Juz by the first Sunday of each month.
