SUMMARY:Cat Adoption at Jumu'ah Prayers
DESCRIPTION:Valley Humane Society of Pleasanton will be on site with immediately adoptable furry felines who are ready to be part of your forever family. This will be our third cat adoption event at MCC! \n\n\n\n1 p.m. to 5 p.m. | Friday\, June 14 | MCC Banquet Hall | Free; no RSVP required to attend | See adoption fee below \n\n\n\n“Verily\, there is a Heavenly reward for every act of kindness done to a living animal.” Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) \n\n\n\nEach adopter must be at least 21 years of age. The adoption fee for a kitten is $125 or $200 for a pair and $100 for a cat. It includes: \n\n\n\n\n -medical summary report\n\n\n\n– spay or neuter surgery;\n\n\n\n– microchip and transfer of ownership\n\n\n\n– age-appropriate vaccinations;\n\n\n\n– up to date on flea control;\n\n\n\n– parasite control treatments;\n\n\n\n– free sample bag of food and\n\n\n\n– free vet check certificate\n\n\n\n– coupons for local pet stores\n\n\n\n\nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \n\n\n\nProphet Mohammad (peace be upon him) was fond of cats\, particularly his cat Muezza. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was so attached to him he’d let the cat sit on his lap while he gave his sermons. He’d even drink water that Muezza had previously been lapping up. \n\n\n\nThere are several well-known tales about Muezza. One says that the cat saved Prophet Muhammad from the deadly bite of a venomous snake. Another relates a time when Muezza was asleep on Prophet Muhammad’s robe when the call to prayers sounded. Although most people would have shooed away the cat\, Prophet Muhammad instead cut off the sleeve of his robe so Muezza could rest in peace. \n\n\n\nIslam instructs Muslims to revere cats. In fact\, mistreating a cat is considered a significant transgression.

Dinner sales begin at 6 p.m.Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah\, peace and blessings be upon him\, said\, “Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The leader of the people is a guardian and is responsible for his subjects. A man is the guardian of his family\, and he is responsible for them. A woman is the guardian of her husband’s home and his children and is responsible for them. The servant of a man is a guardian of the property of his master\, and he is responsible for it. Undoubtedly\, every one of you is a shepherd responsible for his flock.” It addresses the modern challenges of raising practicing Muslims\, offering strategies to inspire and guide children toward a fulfilling Islamic life. The workshop includes practical advice and activities for families to recognize where we lack as parents in the 21st century. And how to foster a culture rooted in Islam for success in both Dunya and Akhirah. \n\n\n\nPurpose: To empower parents with insights and tools to address the spiritual and practical aspects of Islamic parenting. To help parents foster an environment where Islamic values are taught and lived\, promote a family culture where pursuing Jannah is a collective goal. This workshop stands out by combining Qur’anic teachings\, Prophetic examples\, and modern educational techniques to create a transformative experience for Muslim families\, aiming to bridge the gap between Deen and Dunya in everyday life. \n\n\n\nWhat makes it unique? MNB workshops are specially curated to offer valuable and practical advice to its participants. Rooted in the hadith\, “All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock” the workshop will help parents understand their role and responsibilities as shepherds to their children and be the guardians of their flock. \n\n\n\nIt stands out by addressing contemporary challenges Muslim families face in a modern\, Dunya-centric society and offering practical advice and strategies for parents. \n\n\n\nIt helps lay a foundation for: \n\n\n\n\nbecome more mindful of Allah SWT\n\n\n\nowning our responsibility as shepherds to our children\n\n\n\nstrive to become better parents\, knowing we will be asked about our flock\n\n\n\nhelp one another stay on the Siratul Mustaqim\n\n\n\ngrow together as a family in Islam.\n\n\n\ninternalize the reality that our natural home is Jannah.\n\n\n\n\nThis workshop is intended for both parents. When raising children\, the active participation of both parents is paramount. Attending parenting workshops fosters a united front\, ensuring that both mother and father are aligned in their approach to their children’s upbringing. It promotes consistent parenting practices\, strengthens the family bond\, and underscores the significance of collaboration and mutual support to children. Just like mothers\, fathers play a crucial role in their children’s spiritual and moral development. Whoever is given wisdom has been given much good. But none pays heed except those with insight. (Quran). We are motivated by the words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); the most beloved people to Allah are those most beneficial to the people. (Hadith). We seek to achieve this aim through our in-person educational programs and publications. \n\n\n\nIHYA PublishingIhya Publishing is dedicated to reviving beneficial knowledge (al-‘ilm al-nafi’)\, which we believe unlocks the doors of all good and leads to true success in this world and the next.Imam al-Haddad defines this knowledge in the following way: “[Beneficial knowledge] is that which increases your knowledge of the Essence of Allah\, His Attributes\, Acts\, and favors\, makes you aware of His commands and prohibitions\, leads you to renounce the things of this world and wish only for the hereafter\, and brings your faults\, the defects in your acts\, and the plots of your enemy to your notice.” We hope our published works will assist seekers in this sacred pursuit. \n\n\n\nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org \n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/live/yv6VFLGKObM?si=j1GKqSbuKFbX_nj7\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Making Tahleel\, Takbeer\, Tahmeed and TasbeehIt is a Sunnah of our Prophet (PBUH) to recite the Tahleel\, Takbeer\, and Tahmeed as many times as possible on the day of Arafah and also on the days of Tashreeq (11th\, 12th\, and 13th of Dhul Hijjah). \n\n\n\n\nTahleel is to say “Laa ilaaha il-lal-laah”\n\n\n\nTakbeer is to say “Allahu Akbar”\n\n\n\nTahmeed is to say “Alhamdulillaah”\n\n\n\nTasbeeh is to say “Subhanallaah”\n\n\n\n\n\n4. Seek forgiveness from Almighty AllahThe Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: \n\n\n\n“On this day\, Allah\, the most Exalted\, descends to the nearest heaven\, and He is proud of His servants on the earth and says to those in heavens\, look at My servants\, they have come from far and near\, with hair dishevelled and faces covered with dust\, to seek my Mercy. Please see this video to understand this practice. MCC honors the variation at the start of each Islamic month based on the new moon being sighted on different days in different places and some communities doing moon calculations. All are valid. Some scholars may have viewed it as obligatory. However\, most see it as a voluntary (sunnah/mustahab) act. For those who wish to do Qurbani\, it is mustahab (or voluntary sunnah) to avoid cutting hair and nails until the Qurbani is slaughtered. However\, if you cut any hair or nails\, your Qurbani is accepted and does not affect the validity. \n\n\n\nDeeds of the Day of Arafah \n\n\n\nThe Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Fasting the day of Arafah expiates the sins of two years: the past one and the coming one.” (Muslim).
