SUMMARY:Monthly Mawlid Al Habib | Celebratory Gathering of Salutations on Our Beloved Prophet ﷺ

This recognition enlightens us and deepens our knowledge of his teachings. \n\n– Past mawlid celebrations at MCC: http://mcceastbay.org/mawlid\n\nAbout the Book\, “The Kingdom of the Heart”\n“Within every human being is a Kingdom. The heart is the ruler of this Kingdom\, and the rest of the body are its subjects. If the heart rules with justice and excellence\, the body will perform good actions\, and the Kingdom will flourish. If\, however\, the heart neglects its duties\, the body will disobey Allah s and the entire Kingdom will suffer the consequences. Allah ﷻ made this Kingdom so crucial that through it the eternal and everlasting dominion of the next life is either gained or lost.” The Kingdom of the Heart by Habib ‘Umar Bin Hafiz gives the reader a deeper understanding of the importance of cultivating the spiritual kingdom of the heart. Readers will gain a deeper appreciation into how outward actions have spiritual consequences. Some of the topics covered are: • The Tongue & Its Effects • Looking at Creation with Love & Mercy • The Impact of Shaking Hands • Attending to the Ending of Our Lives • The Impact of Intention This book uniquely shows the direct correlation between outward actions and the heart\, giving us insights into how various actions impact the state of our hearts. Ultimately\, it gives us a way to internalize the wisdom and purpose of acts of devotion\, resulting in the purification of the heart and nearness to Allah ﷻ. \nAbout the Author\nHabib Umar bin Hafiz (Arabic: حبيب عمر بن حفيظ\, romanized: Ḥabīb ʿUmar bin Ḥafīẓ; Arabic pronunciation: [ħabiːb ʕumar bin ħafiːðˤ]; born 27 May 1963) is a Yemeni Sunni and Sufi Islamic scholar\, teacher\, and founder and dean of Dar al-Mustafa Islamic seminary.[3] He is also a Supreme Advisory Council member for the Tabah Foundation in Abu Dhabi. \nUstadh Tariq Samady\nUstadh Tariq Samady is a native of the Bay Area with roots hailing from the ancient city of Kabul. He is a lifelong seeker of Islamic knowledge\, learning from a wide range of Muslim scholars – local and international. With blessings from his teachers\, he has contributed to various educational programs and gatherings of dhikr. \nHis research and editing interests span Qur’an and Hadith commentaries\, Philology\, Spirituality\, and Persian Poetry. Tariq is the founder of Circles of Light (حلق النور)\, a fledgling educational initiative focused on sharing sacred learnings and wisdom for the benefit of the community. He studied Computer Science at California State University – East Bay and has over ten years of experience as a Developer and Analytics QA Engineer. \nAbout Circles of Light\nCircles of Light is a fledgling educational initiative focused on sharing sacred learnings and wisdom for the benefit of the community\, meant to assist in maximizing Dunya (this life) for our Deen (Faith). He gives wisdom to whomever He wills. Whoever is given wisdom has been given much good. But none pays heed except those with insight. (Quran). We are motivated by the words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); the most beloved people to Allah are those most beneficial to the people. (Hadith). We seek to achieve this aim through our in-person educational programs and publications. \nAlmighty Allah ﷻ directs us in Sūratul Aḥzāb\, “Verily\, Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Messenger of Allah. You who believe invoke blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation.” Our purpose of invoking blessings upon the Beloved ﷺ leads to proximity to Almighty Allah ﷻ by obeying this command while simultaneously fulfilling our rights upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It is crystal clear how vital the invocation of Ṣalawāt is for the believer\, and it is a Mercy of Almighty Allah ﷻ for its rewards to be multitudinous. Abundant Ṣalawāt upon the Beloved ﷺ leads to loving him and knowing his beautiful qualities. By that virtue\, degrees of purity are realized. From the signs of the people of the Sunnah is sending Ṣalawāt upon him\, for the key to all goodness is Ṣalawāt upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. \n\n– More Sidi Tariq Samady: http://mcceastbay.org/tariq\n– More Tri-Valley and East Bay Mawlid celebrations: https://mcceastbay.org/mawlid\n– More about celebrating the Prophet (peace be upon him)’s day of birth: https://seekersguidance.org/answers/general-counsel/innovation-bida-and-celebrating-the-prophets-birthday-mawlid\n– More sessions about “The Kingdom of the Heart”: http://mcceastbay.org/kingdom

SUMMARY:Report Back from Palestine | Reverend Michael Yoshii
DESCRIPTION:Reverend Michael Yoshii and four others from the U.S. recently returned from a weeklong stay in Wadi Foquin\, a small village in the West Bank rapidly being filled in by surrounding illegal Israeli settlements. \nThe brief presence of Americans inside Palestinian families slackened ongoing nighttime IDF raids\, demolition of homes\, settler harassment\, and the looming threat of land confiscation to build an apartheid road. \n6 p.m. to 7 p.m. | Monday\, February 17 (President’s Day) | MCC Conference Room | Join in person or watch virtually at mcceastbay.org/live \nSponsored by Asbury United Methodist Church\, Jewish Voices for Peace Bay Area\, Friends of Wadi Foquin\, Mount Diablo Peace and Justice Center\, Soul of My Soul Exhibit & MCC East Bay. \n\n– More talks about Palestine: http://mcceastbay.org/palestinian\n\nRightfully so\, our attention has been on the genocide in Gaza. Learn also about the current climate in the West Bank\, which remains under attack. \nReverend Michael Yoshii is a retired United Methodist minister and co-chair of the Friends of Wadi Foquin\, an official committee of the United Methodist Church. He will present a report on a recent Protective Presence trip to the West Bank Muslim village of Wadi Foquin.  \nAbout the Speaker\nReverend Michael Yoshii is a retired pastor of 30 years at Buena Vista United Methodist Church. He understands the profound impact of such injustices from the firsthand experiences of his former congregation and his parents. This historical and generational trauma\, in part\, fuels Yoshii’s solidarity within his community as well as with other marginalized groups\, most notably for him\, Palestinians facing apartheid. \nFriends of Wadi Foquin was created in 2009 with a small amount of fundraising to build beehives in the village. This helped offset the significant damage inflicted on agricultural life by nearby Israeli settlements\, whose roads are prohibited to Palestinians. Through projects like reclaiming a dilapidated building for a community center or building a soccer field on Palestinian land threatened by the occupation\, Friends of Wadi Foquin sent a powerful message that life and dignity will not be denied. This powerful alliance reminds us that the movement for justice anywhere reinforces the struggle for justice everywhere. \nYoshii spoke about the first time he visited Palestine in 2006: “The thing is you’re there in person and physically\, viscerally\, your body is experiencing the occupation and you’re in the presence of other people who are trying to tell their stories. And the couple of things that hit me\, I think that were very central to my identity as a Japanese American. The first thing was about people sharing their stories and their history. I mean\, history is essentially being censored\, particularly when we went on some of our exposure trips and met people from the North and heard their stories of their families and villages\, which are being basically dismantled and demolished\, people are losing their homes. There’s a resonance for me as a Japanese American because we went through the same struggle. I can’t say it’s anything in comparison to Palestinians\, but the similar thread is that we went through the struggle of needing to tell our story too.” Source

SUMMARY:Stanford Blood Drive @ MCC East Bay
DESCRIPTION:As people of faith\, it is in our blood to help. With a 15-minute blood donation\, you can be part of a lifesaving journey that could save up to three lives. \n\n\n\nThe MCC community has saved nearly 375 lives! This is our 30th Jumu’ah blood drive\, and each has always been fully booked! \n\n\n\nLet’s continue that trajectory at this blood drive and keep all our Stanford Blood Center (American Red Cross is unable to accommodate our Winter blood drive this year\, but they will be at three other drives in 2025) guests busy when they set up in our Banquet Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on a Friday. Stanford Blood will also send a $20 e-gift card to the donor’s email address after the blood drive. \nSign up at: HTTP://mcceastbay.org/stanford \nHere are the daily and Jumu’ah Friday prayer service times: HTTP://mcceastbay.org/prayer \n\n\n\nIn 2025\, MCC will proudly host these quarterly blood drives during Jumuah services from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with our friends at the American Red Cross: \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday\, February 21\, 2025 (Stanford Blood Center)\nFriday\, June 6\, 2025 (American Red Cross)\nFriday\, September 5\, 2025 (American Red Cross)\nFriday\, December 5\, 2025 (American Red Cross)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Power Red donation targets O-\, O+\, A-\, and B—only. It takes 20-30 minutes because donors give two units of concentrated Red Blood Cells\, and platelets and plasma are returned. Blood diversity is essential. Now more than ever\, the American Red Cross needs the help of black blood donors. \n\n\n\nBlood donors report feeling a strong sense of satisfaction after donating blood. Why? Because helping others in need feels good. \n\nHere is a direct link to travel restrictions:  https://stanfordbloodcenter.org/travel/  If a donor has immigrated and traveled back to a malarial risk region each year\, please call to check on eligibility at 650-723-7831.\nTeens 16 can donate with parental consent\, and there are different height and weight restrictions for donors under 19.  The consent form is available at the blood drive and on the main eligibility pag\,e along with the height/weight information.  Here is a direct link to the consent form:  https://stanfordbloodcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/05-F-X1-Form-Consent-for-Minor-to-Donate-Blood-v15.0.pdf\nPlease complete the Stanford pre-check on the morning of the Blood Drive to speed up the process. https://stanfordbloodcenter.org/sbc-precheck/\n\n\n\n\nIf you have visited India\, Pakistan\, or another high-risk malaria country and returned within the last 12 months\, you are not eligible to donate blood. See the latest travel-related restrictions to blood donation eligibility. \n\n\n\nEvery person who donates blood at MCC will receive a voucher for a free meal at iniBurger—Gourmet Burgers in Pleasanton. MCC congregation members Leeza and Abdullah Popal\, who own these establishments\, generously donate these vouchers to encourage community and congregation participation. \n\n\n\nMCC Youth: If you are 16 to 18\, here are the donor requirements and the parental authorization form link. \n\n\n\nOn the morning of the blood drive\, please complete the Rapid Pass online and bring the print-off to speed up the check-in process. SUMMARY:"Almost Sunset" Author's Event for Muslim Children with Graphic Novelist Wahab Algarmi
DESCRIPTION:Join us with the author of Almost Sunset to hear the story of a young Muslim American boy during Ramadan as he finds the balance between his family traditions and his secular middle school life. \n3 p.m. to 4 p.m. (immediately after the 2:30 p.m. Jumu’ah ends) | MCC Conference Room | Join us in person or watch virtually at mcceastbay.org/live \nAlmost Sunset follows a young Muslim American boy during Ramadan as he finds the balance between his family traditions and his secular middle school life. \nSponsored by Towne Center Books Pleasanton & MCC East Bay. \nWe are excited to host author of Almost Sunset Wahab Algarmi in conversation with author of Raised by Ghosts\, Briana Loewinsohn on Thursday\, February 20th at 4 pm (Pleasanton location\, 555 Main St).  Join us for a lively discussion about their books and how they became authors/artists. \nIn a contemporary middle grade graphic novel debut that Gene Luen Yang calls “funny\, endearing\, and an intimate look at a Muslim family\,” Almost Sunset follows a young Muslim American boy during Ramadan as he finds the balance between his family traditions and his secular middle school life. Perfect for fans of Swim Team and Chunky. \nWahab Algarmi is a writer and comic artist. He has been creating comics and a community space for other artists in the San Francisco Bay Area for years. Some of his past comic work includes The Society of Unordinary Young Ladies. \nSet in the author’s own teenage years\, Raised By Ghosts begins in 1991 with semi-autobiographical Briana in middle school. Classes are a bummer\, but lunches are worse; either spent alone\, or being teased. Traditionally a good student\, Briana is not doing well in her academics\, but keeps it a secret. Her parents (divorced) are a mess\, and largely absent. She spends a lot of time by herself. By high school\, she makes friends\, and those connections are her only source of happiness as they help each other navigate adolescence. But life at home with each parent remains fraught. When her relationships at school begin to falter\, she has no one to turn to\, forcing Briana to grapple with her sense of self-worth\, her longing for belonging\, and her desire for authenticity in her relationships. \nBriana Loewinsohn is a cartoonist living in Oakland\, CA. These days she teaches high school art and draws comic books. If she doesn’t text you back\, she is probably gardening. \nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org

He is a Canadian-Egyptian authority who interprets the Quran. He was a member of the first team that translated the Ramadan night prayers (Tarawîḥ) live from the Sacred Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina (2002-2005). Khattab memorized the entire Quran at a young age and later obtained a professional ijâzah in the Ḥafṣ style of recitation with a chain of narrators going all the way to Muḥammad. He received his PhD\, M.A.\, and B.A. in Islamic Studies in English with Honors from Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Languages & Translation. He lectured on Islam at Clemson University (OLLI Program\, 2009–2010)\, held the position of Lecturer at Al-Azhar University for over a decade starting in 2003\, and served as the Muslim Chaplain at Brock University (2014-2016). He is a Canadian Council of Imams member and a Fulbright Interfaith Scholar. He has served as an Imam in the US and Canada since 2007. He is the translator of The Clear Quran Series (2015)\, the author of The Clear Quran Series for Kids (2020)\, Shukran (an illustrated story for children\, 2020)\, The Clear Quran Series Dictionary (2021)\, The Nation of Islam (2011) and Outfoxing Fox News (2017)\, and contributor to the Encyclopedia of Muslim American History (2010). \n\nAbout the Translation:\nIt is pleasant to read\, easy to understand\, and noted for its clarity\, accuracy\, eloquence\, and flow. Approved by Al-Azhar and endorsed by the Al-Furqaan Foundation and The Canadian Council of Imams. About the Translation: For a translation to do justice to the Quran and capture its elegance and vigor\, it has to be accurate\, smooth\, eloquent\, and accessible. Unlike most popular translations\, The Clear Quran masterfully passes on all counts. To achieve accuracy\, the translator has used the most significant and most celebrated works of old and modern tafsir (Quran commentaries) and shared the work with several imams in North America for feedback and insight. For clarity\, every effort has been made to select easy-to-understand words and phrases that reflect the beauty\, flow\, and power of the original text. Along with informative footnotes and surah (chapter) introductions\, verses have been grouped and titled based on their themes to understand better the chapters\, their main concepts\, and internal coherence. Thanks to our dedicated team of scholars\, editors\, and proofreaders\, we believe that what you are holding is now the finest translation of the Final Revelation.

She was honored to receive Ijazah (authorization to teach) several branches of the Shari’ah sciences at the hands of many renowned scholars\, including many female scholars. She has received Ijazah to teach Tajwid in the Hafs and Warsh recitations from the late eminent Syrian scholar Shaykh Abu Hassan al-Kurdi. In this capacity\, she also heads the Murbbiyah Mentoring Program\, which trains young women to teach and mentor Muslim girls and teens. SUMMARY:Muslim Singles Meet and Greet
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n\n\n\n \nCalling all single sisters & brothers! Following the phenomenal success of our six previous quarterly HOD Live events at MCC\, we are thrilled to invite you again to HOD Live on Saturday\, Feb. 22\, 2025. This single event is not just a social gathering; it’s a proven pathway to meaningful connections. \n\n\n \nWhy HOD Live at MCC is Unmissable: \n\n\n \n\nRecord of Success: The last HOD Live event at MCC resulted in 65% of attendees finding a match. Due to the overwhelmingly positive reception and success rate\, we’ve asked Half Deen to return.\n\n\n\nSelective and Balanced Participation: Attendees are carefully selected to maintain a 1:1 male-to-female ratio and to match age preferences. This isn’t a walk-in event; it’s a curated experience with assigned seating based on compatibility.\n\n\n\nExclusive Opportunity for MCC Community: Before opening registration to the wider Half Deen community\, we give our MCC family a 24-hour head start to secure your spots. Remember\, spaces are limited\, and the demand is high.\n\n\n\nNational Appeal: With 24% of attendees traveling out of state\, HOD Live events have a nationwide draw. Don’t miss this chance to participate locally in an event nationally recognized for its success.\n\n\n\n \nAct Quickly to Secure Your Spot \n\n\n \nI wanted to inform you about the event before Half Deen notifies its members so you can sign up.  To be part of this unique experience\, sign up promptly. If you’re within the sought-after age range\, Half Deen will reach out to confirm your participation. Delaying might mean missing out on this opportunity\, as others are eager to take available spots. \n\n\n \nAs a quick reminder\, attendees are selected based on a mutual age preference\, ensuring everyone present is within the age range most sought after by participants. This method ensures no attendee is placed awkwardly\, and the maximum age may vary for each event. This prioritizes comfort and compatibility over simply filling the room. This event is more than a chance to meet; it’s a step towards finding a compatible partner in a respectful\, Islamic setting. We’re excited to offer this again at MCC and look forward to another successful gathering. \n\n\n \nRegister now by clicking here or going to BabaAli.com and be part of our story of successful matches! \n \n\n\n \n \nAre you a single Muslim or Muslimah looking for the right partner to form a happy marriage? Then this event is for you. \n\n\n \nEvery four months\, MCC East Bay teams with the much-lauded Half Our Deen platform (and Baba Ali) to run a thoughtful\, fun\, private quarterly matrimonial event that is a profound departure from the tired traditional match-making session and that uses personality questions & fun activities to help our singles sisters and brothers get closer to finding a spouse. \n\n\n \nThis is an appropriately done matrimonial event – from thoughtfully screening every application\, an equal ratio of men to women\, and a fair chance for all to engage in a fun and exciting way through activities that melt the awkwardness of a singles mixer. This event is co-hosted with MCC\, and the event venue will be shared only with approved applicants. \n\n\n \n11 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Saturday\, Feb. 22 | MCC East Bay Conference Room | $100/person | Register at https://mcceastbay.org/singles \n\n\n \nIf you cannot make this event\, sign up for our notification list for the next quarterly event: https://mcceastbay.org/wait \n\n\n \nMCC has a standing policy that financial need should not hold a person back from benefiting from any event held in the MCC facility or cosponsored by MCC. To request a discounted or full financial waiver\, please visit https://mcceastbay.org/scholarship \n\n\n \nThis event breaks from ineffective speed-dating matrimonial events and traditional match-making. This game-oriented event caters to the need for more creative and effective ways to meet and learn about others. Many premarital and personality questions are incorporated into the event activities to allow for a quick dip into meaningful relationship questions. \n\n\n \nThe Bay is filled with Muslim singles\, and we will sell out. \n\n\n \nQuestions? muslimmarriageca@gmail.com or events@mcceastbay.org \n\n\n \nWhat to expect?\n\n\n \nFun \n\n\n \nWe don’t play musical chairs because relationships aren’t based on 3-minute conversations. So\, instead\, we have exclusive fun games and activities designed specifically for marriage-minded Muslims to help you naturally learn about each other. (Here is a sneak peek into an actual live event) \n\n\n \nFiltered \n\n\n \nWe are the only Muslim organization that filters our applicants and hand-picks every attendee. This allows us to select members most likely compatible and helps ensure we have a balanced number of men and women at every event. \n\n\n \nProven \n\n\n \n61% of the attendees at our last event found a match. No other single event even comes close to the success of HD Live\, so it’s no surprise that about 25% of attendees travel (including flights from outside the state and country) to attend this exclusive event. \n\n\n \nPrivate \n\n\n \nOur close-door events are at undisclosed locations because we take privacy very seriously. We believe that the only people that should know you’re attending the event are the people attending the event. In addition\, our HD Live app allows you to show interest without the fear of rejection since matches are privately sent at midnight and only if the interest is mutual. \n\n\n \nFAQs from MCC\n\n\n \nWho can register?\n\n\n \nThis event is designed for Muslim singles from Northern California to meet privately and casually. Space is limited. Muslims from all states can apply\, but priority will be given to singles residing in Northern California\, particularly the San Francisco Bay Area. If our single sisters and brothers give positive feedback\, MCC cohosts these matrimonial events quarterly. \n\n\n \nWho is the moderator?\n\n\n \nBaba Ali\, the co-founder of Half Our Deen\, is an Iranian-born American comedian\, game developer\, businessman\, and actor. He co-founded the revolutionary matchmaking site Half Our Deen\, an alternative to the Muslim dating apps we see today. He is also the founder of Ummah Films\, a Muslim film company that attempts to provide Halal entertainment to Muslims and non-Muslims. Baba Ali rose to prominence within the online Muslim community with Ummah Films\, which discusses various Islamic topics using humor. \n\n\n \nBaba Ali has traveled the world doing stand-up to a wide range of Muslim and non-Muslim audiences. He has performed all over the United States\, United Kingdom\, and Canada\, performing for audiences as large as 37\,000 and all ages. He has been reviewed in The New York Times\, USA Today\, and Los Angeles Times and featured in seven episodes of DirecTV’s The Fizz News. Ali Ardekani is a video blogger to his viewers as Baba Ali. \n \n\n\n \nWhy is MCC collaborating with Half Our Deen?\n\n\n \nHalf Our Deen is an expert in the Muslim matching department and has a system that works. Their website and offline match-making events use personality matching to help connect like-minded Muslims and create lasting matches. For the last 11 years\, the site has explicitly catered to marriage-minded Muslims and has over 2500+ success stories. Our event is modeled on their successful system. \n\n\n \nMCC East Bay is pleased to offer our single community in the Bay Area the ability to use Half Our Deen’s resources to search for a spouse. HOD is unique in its ability to offer personality testing\, high privacy standards\, and offline events\, which we believe will enhance the process for our single Muslims. \n\n\n \nEveryone deserves to find true love and happiness in marriage. MCC is privileged to be a part of your life story by helping to facilitate this chance to meet the right person! \n\n\n \nHow does it work?\n\n\n \n\nPlease fill out the brief application telling us about yourself and who you are looking for. You will receive an email with the following steps within a few days. Add muslimmarriageca@gmail.com to your contacts to prevent bouncebacks and spam/promotional archiving.\n\n\n\nIf your application is accepted\, you will need to register for the event and make your payment to secure your seat.\n\n\n\nThe event will take place at a private location near Pleasanton\, California. Exact location details will be provided only to accepted attendees before the event.\n\n\n\n \nQuestions? muslimmarriageca@gmail.com \n\n\n \nI cannot afford the registration fee.\n\n\n \nMCC has a standing policy that financial need should not hold a person back from benefiting from any event held in the MCC facility or cosponsored by MCC. To request a discounted or full financial waiver\, please visit https://mcceastbay.org/scholarship \n\n\n \nIs there an age limit?\n\n\n \nThere is no age limit. This event is for adults 18+. Your selection for the event depends on attendees in the same range apply for this event. \n\n\n \nTo increase the chances of successful matches\, we use a selection process to ensure quality and compatible candidates are in attendance. The goal is compatibility. For example\, if most applicants indicate that the maximum age they are looking for in a spouse is 40\, and you are older\, your application would not be accepted. However\, please don’t let this deter you from applying for our future events\, as acceptance criteria change based on who is used for each event. \n\n\n \nIs lunch offered?\n\n\n \nWe will have snacks\, coffee\, and tea. We will not have time for a full-fledged meal. Please ensure you have a hearty meal before the event begins at noon. \n\n\n \nWill I still receive confirmation of whether I am on the waiting list?\n\n\n \nIf it is determined that no compatible matches for you will be in attendance at the event\, you will be placed on a waiting list. As we receive more applications\, the criteria might change\, and there will be a chance that you are still invited to the event. We do our best to ask as many matches as possible to increase everyone’s chances of meeting the right person. If you still haven’t heard from us in the weeks leading up to the event\, no candidates have matched your criteria for this particular event. Please be patient and try again at another MCC matrimonial event (sign up for our newsletter at https://mcceastbay.org/newsletter). \n\n\n \nDo I need a HalfOurDeen membership to attend the event?\n\n\n \nYou do not need a membership with HalfOurDeen to apply for this event; however\, accepted applicants must complete their profile on HOD to attend. You will need a profile on HalfOurDeen to participate since a unique online/offline interaction characterizes this singles event. If you’re not already a member of HalfOurDeen\, that’s no problem. HalfOurDeen is providing a 90-day free trial membership for all MCC event attendees. Please note that your trial membership ends after 90 days\, so that you won’t be charged until the 31st. You can cancel right after the event if you choose. One particular advantage is that after meeting individuals at the event\, you can learn more about them through their online profiles before connecting. A HOD-free membership will allow you to view anyone’s profile that is also registered with the site. This way\, there is no need to exchange personal information at the event\, and all follow-up communication can be done safely through the HOD website after the event. \n\n\n \nHow do you screen applicants?\n\n\n \nDuring the application process\, applicants will answer a questionnaire that tells us a little about them and what they are looking for (or not looking for). Answers are then compared to the answers of all other applicants to determine who can attend to increase the chances for successful matches based on compatibility and personality matching. \n\n\n \nWhy was my application not accepted?\n\n\n \nTo increase the chances of successful matches\, we use a selection process to ensure quality and compatible candidates are in attendance. The goal is compatibility. For example\, if most applicants indicate that the maximum age they are looking for in a spouse is 40\, and you are older\, your application would not be accepted. However\, please don’t let this deter you from applying for our future events\, as acceptance criteria change based on who applies for each event. \n\n\n \nCan I bring a family member or a friend to the event?\n\n\n \nNo. This event is specifically tailored to the applicants who apply and are accepted based on the information provided during the application process. Everything from the games played to the seating chart is specific to those who have secured a spot. That is why only those who have applied and been accepted can attend. Moreover\, this is a private event\, and to protect the privacy of others\, only those who have been accepted will be given specific event details that must not be shared with anyone. Please encourage your friends who want to attend to apply! To keep this event as private as possible\, the candidates are the only people allowed to attend it. Our committee members will do their best to keep all interactions focused and constantly monitored throughout the event. \n\n\n \nWhat should I do if I haven’t received a confirmation email?\n\n\n \nIf you have not received a payment submission email after completing your application\, we are receiving a high volume of applications and are still processing them. If you still haven’t heard from us within 30 days of the event\, no candidates match your criteria at this particular event. If you have any questions about the selection process\, please watch this https://youtu.be/NqHiZXhWtcw \n\n\n \nHow is this event different from other Muslim matrimonial events that have taken place in NorCal?\n\n\n \nWe are making every effort to ensure that our event is done in a professionally organized manner that aligns with Islamic principles. Unlike other events\, we will thoroughly vet all applicants via a detailed application. This process will ensure that the attendees are serious about marriage and that there are enough attendees of the opposite gender potentially compatible with *you* and your preferences. We will try our best to have as close to a 50:50 ratio of females to males as possible. \n\n\n \nWe will have a wide variety of structured activities that will help you get to know the potential in a low-key\, pressure-free\, and fun way. Our activities will be structured so people of all personality types can easily participate. So whether introverted\, extroverted\, or somewhere in the middle\, you can participate in all the activities quickly—and\, more importantly\, get to know the potential in the process. You can also have the peace of mind of knowing that no one will have the spotlight on them at any time. \n\n\n \nTo keep in line with Islamic principles\, chaperones will constantly monitor our event\, ensuring that all interactions are kept professional and focused. They will also be there to help facilitate conversation and answer questions as necessary. \n\n\n \nCan I be sure that the information on my application will be kept private?\n\n\n \nAbsolutely. This is our Amanah (trust)\, and we will not release your information to anyone without your permission. Your application will only be reviewed by the HOD Offline staff. \n\n\n \nI am worried that others might discover I will be at this event. How will the event be kept private?\n\n\n \nThe only people who know that you will be at the event…are those at the event (and\, of course\, the people you tell). The MCC Matrimony Committee or HOD Offline will not inform anyone of your attendance. We are also keeping the event location private. Once you have fully registered and paid\, the venue address will only be sent to you. So please do not share the event location with anyone! \n\n\n \nIs there a dress code?\n\n\n \nOur only dress code is that your clothing must be by Islamic principles (clothes cannot be revealing\, tight\, or see-through). Other than that\, feel free to express your personality! Remember that you want to protect yourself best while remaining modest and genuine. \n\n\n \nI do not wear a headscarf in public. Do I have to wear one to the event?\n\n\n \nAlthough we highly encourage everyone to dress as closely as possible according to Islamic principles\, we will not ask that you wear a headscarf\, as the event is not in a masjid prayer space. That said\, anyone dressed inappropriately will not be allowed to participate in the event. \n\n\n \n\n\n \n—————————————————————————- \n\n\n \nHalf Deen Live Matrimonial Event – Pleasanton\, CA – Feb. 22\, 2025 \n\n\n \nIf you want to attend another speed-dating event\, this event is not for you.  Speed dating doesn’t work.  HOD Live does\, so the Muslim Community Center (MCC) and Muslim Marriage Canada are partnering up with HOD and bringing HOD Live to Pleasanton\, California\, on Feb. 22\, 2025! Read below for HOD’s unique match-making process.  \n\n\n \nAbout HOD: \n\n\n \nBeing interviewed for hours is both uncomfortable and awkward.  We do things differently\, and our results are different.  HOD’s last event resulted in 65% of the attendees finding a match. \n\n\n \nHOD Live is designed for marriage-minded Muslims who are serious about finding their other half.  Our events are filled with fun and unique activities and allow you to meet single Muslims more naturally. \n\n\n \nPlease watch the video below showing how the event will take place and how the application process will be.   This is a private event\, so the exact location of the event will be sent to all those who have a seat at the event.Every attendee will hand-pick to help increase compatibility and have an equal balance of men and women at the event.  Our focus is to invite those likely to succeed at this particular event. \n\n\n \nThe MCC and Muslim Marriage Canada are partnering up with Half Deen to bring you a Muslim Singles event using the HOD Live Process in Pleasanton\, CA\, on Feb. 22\, 2025. \n\n\n \nHere is how it works: \n\n\n \n1.  This event is by invitation ONLY.  Fill out the questionnaire below.  This helps us determine if you are a good fit for this event. \n\n\n \n2.  A member of our admin team will review your completed form.  After reviewing your application\, you will be sent a request for payment if they think you are a good fit for this event. \n\n\n \n3.  Once payment is received\,  you will receive a confirmation (within 24hrs) for your seat at the event as well as the exact location of the event. \n\n\n \n****The biggest incentive to signing up early is that you get priority seat selection.  This gives you the best opportunity to sit at the table of your preferred age range **** \n\n\n \nThe price to attend the Singles event is $100 US. \n\n\n \nIf we do not receive a payment response within 24 hours\, your seat will be forfeited and offered to the first person on the waiting list. \n\n\n \nPlease note that there are a limited number of seats for this event.  There are only 40 seats for each gender.  The most significant incentive for registering early is getting priority seating.   \n\n\n \nNote:  Our goal is to ensure a balanced male/female ratio\, so if you do not receive an immediate response\, it may be because we are trying to ensure gender registration is balanced.   \n\n\n \nIf you have any questions\, please email muslimmarriageca@gmail.com or WhatsApp – 1-647-535-2936 \n\n\n \nTo check out other upcoming HOD Live Events\, visit: www.babaali.com
