Nationwide\, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds\, and most of us will need blood at some point in our lives. A Power Red donation targets only O-\, O+\, A-\, and B—blood types. It takes 20-30 minutes because donors give two units of concentrated Red Blood Cells\, and platelets and plasma are returned. Blood diversity is essential. Now more than ever\, the American Red Cross needs the help of black blood donors. \n\n\n\nBlood donors report feeling a strong sense of satisfaction after donating blood. Why? Because helping others in need feels good. \n\n\n\nIf you have visited India\, Pakistan\, or another high-risk malaria country and returned within the last 12 months\, you are not eligible to donate blood. See the latest travel-related restrictions to blood donation eligibility. \n\n\n\nEvery person who donates blood at MCC will receive a voucher for a free meal at IniBurger—Gourmet Burgers in Pleasanton.
