After graduating\, she hopes to further her education in various sacred Islamic sciences and support the development of sound Muslim communities in the West. \n\n\n\nZaid Khanani is a Marriage and Family Therapy trainee with the City of Fremont\, Youth\, and Family Services. There she was granted ijāzah (authorization) in Sahīh al-Bukhārī\, Sahīh al-Muslim\, Sunan at-Tirmidhī\, Sunan Abī Dāwūd\, Sunan an-Nasā’ī\, and Sunan Ibn Mājah. Thereafter\, she continued her Arabic and Qur’anic studies in Damascus\, Syria\, where she obtained an ijāzah in Tajwīd of the Ḥafṣ recitation from the late eminent Syrian scholar Shaykh Ḥasan al-Kurdī. Ustadha Shamira is a co-founder of The Rahmah Foundation\, a non-profit organization dedicated to disseminating traditional Islamic knowledge by qualified female teachers to Muslim women around the globe. She is a passionate advocate for natural birth\, infusing her natural birth classes with Islamic spirituality since 2009\, and has been a qualified lactation counselor since 2011.  Her latest endeavor is her sisters-only YouTube channel catering to women’s educational and spiritual needs through short talks and reminders. Ustadha Shamira resides in sunny Southern California with her husband and four children.

He was born in Herat\, Afghanistan and immigrated with his family to America during the Russian invasion of Afghanistan in 1985. After graduating from American High School and Chabot College he attended San Francisco State University where he majored in history.  \n\n\n\nHe grew up in a household with a deep love and reverence for poetry. At the age of five he began to memorize poems by Rumi and other great poets. His love of poetry continued to grow and eventually developed into a passion and calling that would allow him to teach regular classes on Rumi throughout California\, the U.S.\, U.K.\, Canada\, Australia\, Malaysia\, Germany and even as far as Konya\, Turkey\, where Mawlana Rumi is laid to rest. The nuances of the Farsi language\, in which he is fluent\, allows him the unique ability to bring Rumi’s poetry to life and to help listeners recognize Rumi’s essential message of peace\, love\, coexistence\, and connection with the Divine. He is the author and performer of “Layla & Majnun” play produced by Performing Lines in Perth Australia.  \n\n\n\nUstadh Feraidoon spends his free time reading\, studying\, and lecturing on many topics including Rumi and a wide collection of Farsi poetry\, spirituality\, and self-development. He holds a Master of Arts in New Testament also from the Graduate Theological Union. His published MA thesis is titled “Decrypting the Son of Man Problem: An Inquiry into the Dominant Approaches to the Son of Man Problem and its Conspicuous Application in Mark 8:27-31.” His interests include comparative theology\, philology in religious corpora\, and historical-critical studies of religious canons. \n\n\n\nRabbi Judith Seid is a graduate of the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism’s Rabbinic and Cantorial programs and holds a masters degree in Jewish Communal Studies from Hebrew Union College.  A graduate of the Secular Shule movement\, she taught in and directed several Secular Jewish supplemental schools and directed the Ann Arbor Jewish Cultural Society for many years. She founded the Baltimore Jewish Cultural Chavurah in 1998 and Tri-Valley Cultural Jews in  2005.  She is the author of God-Optional Judaism: Alternatives for Cultural Jews Who Love Their History\, Heritage and Community\, a handbook for Jews looking for creative and meaningful new ways to express their own way of being Jewish\, as well as of We Rejoice in Our Heritage: Home Rituals for Secular and Humanistic Jews\, and the creative editor of Kumzits! A Festivity of Instant Jewish Songs.  She is the parent of three fourth-generation secularists and the ecstatic grandmother of 2. \n\n\n\nShe likes to sing\, loves dogs\, and would rather dance than eat.  She also laughs more than is strictly necessary.

There she was granted ijāzah (authorization) in Sahīh al-Bukhārī\, Sahīh al-Muslim\, Sunan at-Tirmidhī\, Sunan Abī Dāwūd\, Sunan an-Nasā’ī\, and Sunan Ibn Mājah. Thereafter\, she continued her Arabic and Qur’anic studies in Damascus\, Syria\, where she obtained an ijāzah in Tajwīd of the Ḥafṣ recitation from the late eminent Syrian scholar Shaykh Ḥasan al-Kurdī. Ustadha Shamira is a co-founder of The Rahmah Foundation\, a non-profit organization dedicated to disseminating traditional Islamic knowledge by qualified female teachers to Muslim women around the globe. She is a passionate advocate for natural birth\, infusing her natural birth classes with Islamic spirituality since 2009\, and has been a qualified lactation counselor since 2011.  Her latest endeavor is her sisters-only YouTube channel catering to women’s educational and spiritual needs through short talks and reminders. Ustadha Shamira resides in sunny Southern California with her husband and four children.

He served as the curriculum director for the Deen Intensive Foundation for the last ten years and has a particular interest in creating sustainable models of education for new and returning Muslims. He has been designing Islamic educational programs and teaching the basics of Islam for more than a decade. He lectures and teaches courses on Islam across the country. “Being Muslim: A Practical Guide” is his first published work. Dr. Asaad is an emergency physician by training and lives in Michigan with his wife and three children.

There she was granted ijāzah (authorization) in Sahīh al-Bukhārī\, Sahīh al-Muslim\, Sunan at-Tirmidhī\, Sunan Abī Dāwūd\, Sunan an-Nasā’ī\, and Sunan Ibn Mājah. Thereafter\, she continued her Arabic and Qur’anic studies in Damascus\, Syria\, where she obtained an ijāzah in Tajwīd of the Ḥafṣ recitation from the late eminent Syrian scholar Shaykh Ḥasan al-Kurdī. Ustadha Shamira is a co-founder of The Rahmah Foundation\, a non-profit organization dedicated to disseminating traditional Islamic knowledge by qualified female teachers to Muslim women around the globe. She is a passionate advocate for natural birth\, infusing her natural birth classes with Islamic spirituality since 2009\, and has been a qualified lactation counselor since 2011.  Her latest endeavor is her sisters-only YouTube channel catering to women’s educational and spiritual needs through short talks and reminders. Ustadha Shamira resides in sunny Southern California with her husband and four children.
