He started as a strong swimmer and could swim across the Strait of Gibraltar. He went on to represent Morocco until 2016. \nAs of 2017\, Lahna has been competing in the World Triathlon after requesting a change of representation from Morocco to the United States. \nMohamed has won four gold medals and 13 podium finishes and is currently ranked fourth globally. \nLahna was born and raised in Morocco and represented Morocco at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games\, winning bronze in the PTS2 category. A resident of California since 2011\, Lahna officially raced for Team USA for the first time in 2021. In 2023\, Lahna placed third at the World Triathlon Para Cup in Paris and second at the World Triathlon Para World Championships in Pontevedra. He played sports on crutches for six years until he attended an elementary school specifically for children with disabilities\, where he received a leg made of wood and leather that didn’t bend\, which he had all through high school. At 20\, his athletic ability was completely redefined after receiving his first real running prosthetic. Beyond para-triathlon\, Lahna is a proud husband\, father\, and accomplished ultra-endurance athlete who has swam the Strait of Gibraltar\, run across the Sahara Desert in the Marathon de Sables\, and completed the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona. \nQuestions? events@mcceastbay.org

She has received Ijazah to teach Tajwid in the Hafs and Warsh recitations from the late eminent Syrian scholar Shaykh Abu Hassan al-Kurdi.
