SUMMARY:Elementary & Middle School Boys Halaqa & Hangout
DESCRIPTION:For Elementary & Middle School Boys (Grades 3-8): Join Coach Amir Rashad weekly for basketball\, a youth halaqa\, and a hang-out session to help our young men make connections and bonds\, form a brotherhood\, and navigate school and social challenges as they grow into men. \nThese sessions aim to craft our next generation of confident\, faithful Muslim men. These Halaqas are for grades 3 to 8 only—no younger boys. The sessions are capped at 30 boys. Once limited spots are full\, please join the waitlist. For a financial waiver for this event\, please email scholarship@mcceastbay.org. \nAbout the Halaqa Facilitator: \nCoach Amir Rashad (Quentin Youngblood) is a former Division I athlete and international professional basketball player with experience competing in Germany\, Brazil\, and Indonesia. A standout at El Cerrito High School\, he became the all-time scoring leader. He earned All-State and USA Honorable Mention All-American honors before serving as team captain at the University of Washington\, where he became a Muslim. Rashad has over 18 years of coaching experience\, including varsity head coaching roles in the U.S.\, Saudi Arabia\, Dubai\, and Bahrain.
