About the Instructor:
Sidi Deen Alalusi is an avid drummer, who began drumming when he was two years old. One of his first words was ‘Boomba‘, meaning anything you could drum on. He was inspired by master drummer and Oud player Hamza El Din. He makes drums in addition to playing them. Deen has performed at weddings and regularly drums during Mauleds at the  Taleef Collective. He loves to teach and this would be his first formal class. Demonstrations and explanation of drum mechanics will be included. Some of his other hobbies are woodworking, calligraphy, traditional tool-making, cooking, spear-fishing, camping and reading.
