They will discuss CAIR’s 2023 Civil Rights Report\, titled “Progress in the Shadow of Prejudice\,” sharing its insightful findings. He is an expert on political communications\, media relations\, and anti-Islam prejudice in the United States\, with over two decades of experience. \n\n\n\nThe Wall Street Journal\, the New York Times\, and the Washington Post have sought his opinions. He has appeared on outlets ranging from Fox News to CNN\, the BBC\, and Al Jazeera. \n\n\n\nSaylor has run successful advocacy campaigns against corporate giants such as Burger King and Bell Helicopter-Boeing. \n\n\n\nHe has been active in combatting the Muslim Ban\, anti-Islam legislation nationwide\, and removing biased and inaccurate materials from law enforcement counterterrorism trainings. Saylor has authored a number of reports documenting anti-Islam sentiment and civil rights issues in the United States. \n\n\n\nSaylor has conducted dozens of leadership\, advocacy\, and media trainings across the United States and Europe\, including speaking to audiences at NASA\, Yale\, Princeton\, and the U.S. National War College. \n\n\n\nDr. Hatem Bazian is a scholar of religion\, politics\, and globalization whose field specialties include Islamic Law\, Awqaf and Fatawa Texts\, Classical Arabic\, Palestine\, Islamophobia\, Diaspora and Comparative Immigration\, American Law and Society\, Arab and Arab American Studies\, Race Theory and History\, Colonialism\, Post-Colonial and De-colonial Studies\, Ethnic Studies\, Multi-Cultural and Cross-Cultural Studies\, International Relations and Globalization\, Social and Political Movement\, Comparative Liberation Theologies\, Languages\, and Media. \n\n\n\nDr. Bazian is also a professor in the Departments of Near Eastern and Ethnic Studies at the University of California\, Berkeley\, and an adviser to the Religion\, Politics\, and Globalization Center there. Prior to his post at Zaytuna College\, he taught at UC Berkeley School of Law\, UC Davis\, San Francisco State University\, Graduate Theological Union\, Saint Mary’s College\, and Diablo Valley College. \n\n\n\nDr. Bazian earned his Ph.D. at UC Berkeley in Near Eastern Studies in 2000.
