The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. \nThis is a beautiful hiking area with both paved and dirt trails that are moderately steep and nice views of the water. If desired\, you can avoid a large portion of the paved East Shore Trail by taking the southern Cameron Loop after crossing the Honker Bay bridge\, Ten Hills Trail\, and Indian Cove Trail leaving a very short paved section to the Marina. Dogs must be on leash in developed areas/under voice command in undeveloped areas of the park. Accessibility: There are 5 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of Lake Chabot Road at the south end of the trail. All of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved asphalt or a natural surface (dirt). It is typically at least 6 feet wide. The most accessible portion of the trail is the East Shore and West Shore paved trails in the first about 1.5 miles in either direction. The majority of the trail is estimated to be in the mostly gentle (5% or less) grade category but there are steeper sections at about 0.7\, 1.2\, 1.6-1.8\, 2.1-2.3\, 2.9\, 3.4-5.8\, and 7.2 miles when going clockwise. Trail goers using wheelchairs/mobility equipment or strollers may need assistance in the steeper sections or to avoid them for safety. All-terrain tires or motorized equipment may be needed for the surface type and grade past 1.5 miles in either direction. There are benches and picnic tables along the route for resting. According to the park website\, there is a wheelchair-accessible fishing pier with level access\, railings of 34 inches or less\, and turn-around space. The most accessible portion of the trail is the Lake Chabot via East Shore Trail: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/lake-chabot-west-shore-bass-cove-columbine-honker-bay-east-shore-loop \nQuestions? hiking@mcceastbay.org \n\nPhotos from November 6\, 2021 hike to Mission Peak in Fremont:
