SUMMARY:American Muslim Appreciation and Awareness Month: Livermore City Council
DESCRIPTION:At 7 p.m. on Monday\, August 28\, the Livermore City Council joins communities throughout the State of California in recognizing the month of August 2023 as Muslim Appreciation and Awareness Month. Sr. Nabeelah Khan will accept the Proclamation on behalf of Tri-Valley Muslims. \n\n\n\nThe MCC encourages all congregation members to attend in person\, watch the live stream\, and express our community’s appreciation for this and other upcoming Proclamations: \n\n\n\n\n– Livermore at 7 p.m. on Monday\, August 28: https://mcceastbay.org/event/livermore-council/\n\n\n\n– San Ramon at 7 p.m. on Tuesday\, September 12: https://mcceastbay.org/event/san-ramon-council-2/\n\n\n\n– Dublin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday\, August 15: https://mcceastbay.org/event/dublin-council/\n\n\n\n– Pleasanton (TBA)\n\n\n\n\nThe Proclamation recognizes the amazing contributions of Islamic Center of Livermore and Tri-Valley Muslims: \n\n\n\n\n– Watch the virtual meeting live (link pending): https://www.cityoflivermore.net/citygov/clerk/archive/default.htm\n\n\n\n\nThe MCC encourages all congregation members to watch the livestream and express our appreciation. We especially encourage residents who live in Livermore to attend in person. \n\n\n\nThis is the third year the Livermore City Council has had this proclamation. These are the Tri-Valley City Council commemorations in 2022: https://youtu.be/lPt53HC3RTo \n\n\n\nThe Proclamation acknowledges the rich history and guiding virtues of American Muslims\, and commends Muslim communities in California for the lasting positive impact they have made\, and continue to make\, toward the advancement of the state and the nation. \n\n\n\nThe Proclamation recognizes the Islamic Center of Livermore as fulfilling the spiritual and cultural needs of Livermore residents\, helping families with food and cash assistance during the COVID-19 crisis and promoting interfaith cooperation by providing an environment for dialogue\, education\, and fellowship.
