DESCRIPTION:For Brothers! Join a brotherhood that hikes through life’s ups and downs\, finding strength and community in the great outdoors. Our Monthly MCC Brothers Hike caters to various fitness levels and explores East Bay’s serene landscapes. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking to start\, we welcome you to share in this journey of fellowship and discovery.\n\nSaturday\, June 21 | 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. | Sunol Wilderness | No children\, please (teenage boys\, okay) | RSVP at mcceastbay.org/brothers-hike \nIf brothers want to walk around more\, they can do it depending on their interest/time. The hike will be canceled with insufficient RSVPs\, depending on the weather. \n\nWhen: Saturday\, June 21\, 2025\nTime:  8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – Please arrive early to park and find the group. The group can wait till 8:10 a.m. and will start the hike. Please be on time since we cannot hold the group.\nCarpool: We highly recommend carpooling. No carpool from MCC is available for this hike. \nParking: $5\nMeeting Point: Trailhead\, south of Sunol Wilderness Visitor Center\nTrail: Little Yosemite via Camp Ohlone\, Geary\, Backpack and McCorkle Loop\nDistance: Around 5.8 miles.\nDifficulty: Moderate.\nMisc: Pack a snack and water for yourself. Wear hiking shoes if possible. Bring a small breakfast/ Lunch sandwich or something to eat. Carry enough water\, a hat\, and a light jacket. Please download the All Trails map (free version) if you decide to return in the middle of the hike. Generally considered a moderately challenging route\, it takes an average of 2 h 56 min to complete. This is a very popular area for backpacking\, birding\, and camping\, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas. \nThis loop takes you to Little Yosemite via Camp Ohlone Road\, Gear Road\, Backpack Road\, and McCorkle Trail. You’ll be traveling along Alameda Creek for the first leg of your journey. This route also passes by a spur trail that takes you to several backcountry campsites such as Cathedral\, Eagle’s Eyrie\, and Sycamore.
