DESCRIPTION:For Elementary & Middle School Boys (Grades 3-8): Join us weekly for a Halaqa and hangout session to help our sons build connections\, form bonds\, create a brotherhood\, and navigate school and social challenges as they grow into young men. \nThese sessions aim to craft our next generation of confident\, faithful Muslim men. These Halaqas are for only Grades 3-8\, no younger boys. The sessions are capped at 40 participants. Once limited spots are full\, please join the waitlist. Pizza is included each week. \n7:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. | Fridays | 4/18\, 4/25\, 5/2\, 5/9\, 5/23\, & 5/30 | Hart Middle School | $15/session | Register at mcceastbay.org/boys-halaqa \nHalaqa Rules: \n\nParents must pick up their child(ren) by 9:15 p.m. After that\, parents will be charged a $1/min late fee (paid in cash).\nPlease bring your reusable water bottles.\nParents must sign in and sign out during pickup/drop off for safety measures.\nDads are required to volunteer for at least one session. For a financial waiver for this event\, please email scholarship@mcceastbay.org. \nAbout the Halaqa Facilitators: \nShaykh Rami Nsour is a scholar\, counselor\, public speaker\, teacher\, and translator of Islamic texts. Spending over 10 years within the Mauritanian tradition (mahdara) system of studying Islam\, Shaykh Rami received licensure (ijaza) to share his wisdom with students. Further enhancing his extensive study of fiqh\, Nsour completed an extraordinary ‘in-residence’ experience\, allowing him to research questions (fatawa) of Islamic faith\, law\, and practice. \nRami Nsour co-founded the Tayba Foundation\, the first organization in the United States to offer a distance-learning program in Islamic Education to incarcerated men and women. Shaykh Rami has extensive experience in curriculum development\, specifically in character (akhlaq)\, and holds a B.A. in Human Development with a focus on Early Childhood. He also obtained an M.A. in Educational Psychology. A resident of the San Francisco Bay Area\, he lives with his wife and three children. \nIn addition\, Rami has dedicated much of his time to teaching\, conducting seminars\, and counseling. He has spent much of his time teaching and aiding Muslims in prison and has seen how knowledge unlocks human potential. His students in the prisons have\, in turn\, taught countless people and invited many people to Islam. He was instrumental in co-founding Dar as-Salaam\, a project dedicated to building and supporting a school in Mauritania. Shaykh Rami serves as a Senior Instructor at SeekersHub Global. Rami co-founded the Tayba Foundation\, which has a correspondence program for Muslim inmates (http://www.taybafoundation.org/). In addition to traditional teaching licenses (ijazah)\, Rami holds a B.A. in Human Development focusing on Early Childhood. MCC security and volunteers will direct latecomers (after about 9 p.m.) to our parallel offsite service up the road at Hart Middle School‘s multipurpose room. \nHart is just a two-minute drive from MCC. Qari Tayeb Bouamama will lead the Hart service. He will follow Qari Amar’s Taraweeh recitation schedule on Friday\, March 28\, and Wednesday\, March 26.
