It has been narrated that the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace be upon him, said: “There are five nights on which dua is not rejected: the first night of Rajab, the fifteenth night of Sha‘ban, Thursday night, the night before Eid al Fitr and the night before Eid al Nahr (al Adha).” (al Suyuti)

The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Allah looks at His creation in the night of mid-Sha’ban and He forgives all His creation except for a mushrik (idolater) or a mushahin (one bent on hatred)".
It is the night when our provision for the coming year is determined, and also a night of forgiveness. It is therefore, recommended to do special dhikr, and prayers at night, as well as to ask for forgiveness. It is also recommended to fast on the 15th of Shaban.
