2021 MCC Elections

Assalamu Alaikum Beloved MCC Family:

We need your help in nominating dedicated and God-conscience individuals to serve on the Board of Director of Muslim Community Center – East Bay in 2022.

Please use this form to submit your nomination by December 27, 2021. Rest assured that all nominations will remain anonymous and information will only be shared by necessary members of the MCC Election Committee.

For this election, five positions are open: (a) Vice President, (b) Treasurer, (c ) and 3 at large positions. The voting member criteria, and election details are here.

The primary responsibilities of the MCC Board of Directors include: community leadership, strategic planning, policies and procedures, fundraising and budgeting, overseeing staff, event management, and property management and transactions.

After the due date of December 27, the Election Committee will screen all nominations and provide a list of eligible candidates to the community.

In His infinite wisdom, Allah (SWT) has left it to the Muslim community to determine its leadership through the process of consultation as suits their conditions of time and place. What keeps us from error is serving the welfare of the Muslim community by being mindful of Allah (taqwa) and having no personal goals.

According to the MCC Bylaws, each service area that the MCC serves – San Ramon/Danville/Alamo, Dublin/Livermore, and Pleasanton/Castro Valley – shall be represented on the Board by at least one member.

In case the MCC Elections Commission does not receive enough nominations from a particular service area, the Commission will take appropriate steps to ensure proper service area representation.
