Assalamu Alaikum Dear MCC Community,

Insha’Allah, MCC is planning on starting a full-time Hifz-ul-Qur’an program in the Fall of 2024. The program seeks to provide a nurturing environment where students can dedicate themselves to memorizing the Quran under the guidance of qualified instructors.

The program will, insha’Allah, be led by our Imam, Qari Amar Bellaha. Qari Amar Bellaha is a Hafiz and expert in the science of Tajweed. He received his ijaza to teach memorization and Tajweed from Imam Nafi Qur’an School in Morocco and is considered one of the foremost reciters of the Qur’an in the world.

The program will run four days a week (Monday-Thursday) for four hours each day. The program aims to steer students into a regular cadence of memorization, working their memorization up to one page per day.  The end goal is to have students complete their memorization of the entire Qur’an in 3 years. The pace of memorization and desired end goal may vary per-student basis based on parental request and/or the student’s aptitude.

Students must be able to read Arabic fluently at an average speed of three minutes per page. They must have previously memorized some of the short Surahs of the Quran (from Surah Duha to Surah Naas) in order to be admitted into the program.

The expected cost of the program is expected to be $350 per month. Sibling discounts may be applicable. Need-based financial assistance may be available to deserving students.

To launch the program, your feedback on your interest level in registering your child(ren) will be critical.  Please complete the survey.

Your response is precious in shaping the foundation of this initiative and ensuring that it meets the needs of the MCC community.
