Join Miftaah Institute for a powerful evening of reflection, inspiration, and spiritual renewal at “Under His Shade: Living with the Names of Allah.” This special gathering brings together a remarkable lineup of scholars to explore the beauty, meaning, and transformative impact of the Names of Allah in our daily lives.

Through heartfelt reminders and insightful reflections, attendees will learn how understanding the Divine Names deepens faith, strengthens connection with Allah, and shapes the way we live, worship, and interact with the world around us. Each session will highlight how the attributes of Allah inspire hope, humility, gratitude, and reliance upon Him.

About Miftaah Institute: 

Miftaah Institute aims to preserve the practice of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and His beloved companions: to teach and learn knowledge in a sacred manner. Miftaah Institute exists to prepare future leaders in communities that preserve and serve this sacred religion.

About Dr. Abdul Aziz Waheed: 

Shaykh Abdul Aziz Waheed was born in East Lansing, Michigan. He began Islamic studies at Jaamiah al-Uloom al-Islamiyyah, where he became a Hafiz.Upon the completion of his memorization of the Quran, Shaykh Abdul Aziz decided to continue his studies in Islamic sciences . He started his 7 year Shariah program in Toronto, Canada. Shaykh Abdul Aziz Waheed graduated with honors and went on to receive Ijazzat for teaching Hadith from prominent scholars from around the world. He also travels extensively across North America for Dawah purposes. Throughout his travels, Shaykh Abdul Aziz addresses communities across the United States – and particularly in Michigan – on a wide range of Islamic topics and Inshallah, continues to do so with the Tawfiq of Allah SWT . Shaykh Abdul Aziz is a Co-founder of Miftaah Institute and also serves as Dean of Academic Affairs at Michigan Islamic Institute.

About Sh Yaser Birjas: 

Sh. Yaser Birjas is originally from the holy land of Palestine and was born in Kuwait in 1970. He grew up in Kuwait visiting different mosques and leading different youth activities and programs. Upon completing high school in 1988, he moved to the UAE to study Electronic Engineering. While back in Kuwait in 1990 for a class in management and business administration, the war started in Kuwait and his university career came to a halt.

About Sh Tariq Musleh: 

Shaykh Tariq Musleh is a graduate from the prestigious Madinah University where he attained his Associate degree in Arabic and Bachelors Degree from the College of Sharia. He completed his memorization of Quran at the age of 13 and went on to receive ijaza from Palestine. He studied Classical Arabic at the Fajr Center in Egypt. Shaykh Tariq has worked as a part time instructor for Islamic Learning Foundation Chicago, where he taught Quran and Arabic studies. He has served in Young Muslims (YM) for many years as a coordinator and murrabi. Shaykh Tariq has also served as the Youth Director for the Islamic Center of Naperville in Chicago and became the Youth Director and Assistant Imam of Mecca Center in Willowbrook, Illinois in July 2017.
