For families that arrived from Afghanistan in the U.S. after August 2021, the SRVIC-MCC Refugee Support Team hosted a Sunday Family Night program and dinner about building Afghan American identity and religious and cultural resiliency with Ustadh Feraidoon Mojadedi and Dr. Arshad Ershad. More than 100 recently-arrived refugees attended.
Each school-aged child family received a backpack with all essential school supplies. From the MCC prison book project, families also received unused donated children’s books and Farsi/Pashto books.
