Ramadan can be lonely for someone new to the faith who has not found faith through community. We’re recruiting volunteers across the Bay Area to accompany new Muslims (reverts) and those interested in Islam to Jumu’ahs, Iftars, and Taraweeh during Ramadan.
For its new initiative “Together in the Masjid,” MCC’s Marhaba Convert Care team is looking for community members across the Bay Area to accompany new Muslims (reverts) and those interested in Islam to Jummah or other events at the masjid.
Companions are expected to serve as community representatives by exemplifying Islamic values of compassion, patience, and respect. Thus, volunteer companions must attend a brief online mandatory orientation. The Convert Care team hopes to onboard volunteers from all around the San Francisco Bay Area.
