About this trail:
This family-friendly trail encircles Lafayette Reservoir. Cyclists and people on roller skates, rollerblades, and scooters are only allowed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon until closing and on Sundays from opening until 11:00 a.m. on the paved Lakeside Trail and roads.
Accessibility: There are 15 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of Mt. Diablo Boulevard at the north end of the trail. All of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved asphalt and smooth. It is typically at least 8 feet wide.
The majority of the trail is estimated to be in the mostly gentle (5% or less) grade category when going counterclockwise. Trail goers using wheelchairs/mobility equipment or strollers may need assistance in the steeper sections or to avoid them for safety. There are benches and picnic tables along the route for resting.
