About the speaker
Sr. Helena Madera-Silmi is a Latina revert of 27 years and a dedicated non-profit leader with over a decade of experience in the charitable sector. A passionate philanthropist, she has collaborated with respected institutions, including the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the Cleveland Municipal School District, and Al-Misbaah, to support emergency assistance, education, and community development initiatives. Â
Her commitment to community service extends across local and state platforms. She serves on the California State Advisory Council, contributes to the Elk Grove Measure E Committee, and is a Past President of the Rotary Club, where she championed service-driven leadership.
Sr. Helena currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of The Sunnah Initiative, a Florida-based organization focused on education, dawah, and community service. Through her leadership, she continues to advance sustainable programs that uplift and empower diverse communities.
