For our convert sisters and brothers in the Bay Area only, whether this is your first Ramadan or fiftieth, join us for a memorable Iftar just for you. Bring your family & close friends as we celebrate this blessed month of Ramadan together. Helena Madera-Silmi is our special guest speaker this year.

About the speaker

Sr. Helena Madera-Silmi is a Latina revert of 27 years and a dedicated non-profit leader with over a decade of experience in the charitable sector. A passionate philanthropist, she has collaborated with respected institutions, including the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the Cleveland Municipal School District, and Al-Misbaah, to support emergency assistance, education, and community development initiatives.  

Her commitment to community service extends across local and state platforms. She serves on the California State Advisory Council, contributes to the Elk Grove Measure E Committee, and is a Past President of the Rotary Club, where she championed service-driven leadership.

Sr. Helena currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of The Sunnah Initiative, a Florida-based organization focused on education, dawah, and community service. Through her leadership, she continues to advance sustainable programs that uplift and empower diverse communities.
