A group from San Jose State University will be tabling with us today to discuss the US Geological Survey Meetings. They are working on a large-scale project with the US Geological Survey to see how people are impacted by disasters and disruptions.

This project has three parts but right now, we are trying to start meetings with groups that are underrepresented in the current research to fill in any gaps. Dr. A.J. Faas and graduate student Gabbie Fall would like to start the first phase of this with MCC. It will be four meetings over about four months starting on Tuesday, September 6. The meetings will introduce the project in more detail, ask for your input on hazards and vulnerabilities in your communities, and compare what you share with us to the research that the US Geological Survey has already done. The meetings will take place over Zoom and we would appreciate it if anyone willing to partner with us and attend these meetings could try to make all four but we understand that life happens and that is not always possible. If you have any questions, you can email gabrielle.fall@sjsu.edu. We would really appreciate it if you could share your knowledge and experiences with us.
