Teen Girls Qiyam | Uroosa Shah & MCC Youth Committee

For Teenage Girls (grades 8-12): After the nightly Taraweeh ends on Saturday night (~10 p.m.), join us for a night of Qiyam led by Youth Coordinator Uroosa Shah and MCC Youth Committee to connect with Allah (swt) and gain the blessings of this blessed month.

Saturday, March 7 to Sunday, March 8 | After Taraweeh prayers end (~10 p.m.) until Suhoor (5 a.m.) | MCC Conference Room | $30/person; capped at 70 | Register at mcceastbay.org/girls-qiyam

Suhoor will be provided.

About the Facilitator

Uroosa Shah has served the Muslim community for several years, beginning in her hometown at the Islamic Association of Long Island, where she taught Islamic studies, coordinated youth programs, and served on the education board. Her primary focus was on guiding teens to build lasting bonds with peers in the Muslim community and on providing welcoming spaces that nurture faith and belonging.

Now in the Bay Area, Uroosa continues this work through her role at MCC, focusing on youth engagement and community building. She is currently pursuing her ʿĀlimah studies to deepen her Islamic knowledge and better serve the community. Uroosa also holds a Master of Science with a concentration in Environmental Health & Safety. She continues to advance her professional career while serving in her religious role. Uroosa is passionate about empowering the next generation in their spiritual and personal growth.
