Many families in our community are facing greater food insecurity due to recent cuts to SNAP benefits and delays for EBT assistance programs.
More and more families are reaching out to MCC, worried about how they will feed their children in the coming months.
To help meet this urgent need, the MCC Food Pantry is partnering with SRVIC to host an additional monthly food distribution from November until the end of Ramadan 2026.
Over 300+ families regularly come to the MCC warehouse each month to receive halal meat, diapers, eggs, produce, and staple food items. The MCC Food Pantry is the only local pantry that consistently provides culturally appropriate foods, extra produce, diapers, and halal meat to Muslim families.
We need your help to ensure that no one in our community goes without nourishment.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Drop off staple food items at MCC on Fridays during Jumuah prayers. We are collecting the following items:
- Dry beans/lentils (1-2 pound bags or even 25 pound bags – our volunteers will happily bag them into smaller ziplock portions)
- 10-pound bags of rice
- Tuna
- Peanut butter
- Tomato sauce, paste, or diced tomatoes
- Pasta
- Oatmeal
To help keep families safe, please ensure all food items are unexpired and unopened.
2) Make a monetary donation to support MCC’s purchase of fresh produce and halal meat.
