Last month, Haji Noor Deen Mi Guang Jiang graced MCC for a Friday evening workshop on Islamic calligraphy, followed by an exhibition about the splendor of Islamic calligraphy.
Haji Noor Deen Mi Guang Jiang is a renowned master of Arabic calligraphy. He brings immense learning in traditional thought and Islamic art to a modern audience, juxtaposing them in a new calligraphic style.
Around twenty-five students gathered around Haji Noor for the demonstration and then practiced the art on their own. Dr. Mustafa Bserki translated the talk from Arabic into English.
