Get tested for COVID-19 for free from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at MCC.

No appointment or pre-registration necessary. Your PCR nasal swab test results will be emailed to you in 24-48 hours.

This free outdoor walk-in testing in the MCC parking lot Monday through Sunday until March 13, 2022 is for anyone ages 2 and up. Do your part. Protect yourself, your loved ones and your community.

This no-cost COVID-19 testing site is sponsored by KindlyTest & MCC East Bay. This test result is valid for traveling.

No out-of-pocket cost for test (free testing regardless of your insurance or immigration status). The test result is sent to provided during registration in 24-48 hours after test. Labs in the Bay Area are struggling to keep up with the testing demand and the results are taking longer than usual.

If you feel sick and have symptoms of COVID-19, get tested right away, even if you’re vaccinated. Early testing is important to help prevent COVID-19 from spreading to friends, family, and the community.

Do I have to schedule an appointment?

No appointment or prior registration is necessary. Just walk up to outdoor testing location in west MCC parking lot.

Is this is a drive-thru testing site?

No. You will exit your vehicle and join the outdoor queue for testing. Wait times will vary throughout the day with the highest wait time expected from noon to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.. The testing is performed in the outdoor. Limited bathroom usage available in MCC facility.

How do I get my test results?​​​

 A copy of the test results will be sent to the email you provide during the online registration.

How long will this clinic be open?

MCC is committed to seeing our community through this winter omicron surge. We will run this free on-site clinic daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Thursday, January 13, 2022 to Sunday, March 31, 2022. We will consider extending this outreach program thereafter based on how our community infection rates are looking and need in the community.

Can children be tested?

We allow children over the age of two years to get tested. Masks were required and children 17 and under needed to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What is the cost of the test?

The PCR test is provided to you at no cost. We can perform the test for you if you are insured or uninsured and we do not ask about your legal or residency status.

How is your test performed?

It is a self-administered nasal self swab. MCC volunteer and KindlyTest staff will give instructions within the kit along with a brochure. Our staff and volunteers can help you follow the instructions on the kit.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring your ID and insurance card (only if you are insured). If you are uninsured, the tests are provided a to you at no cost. If you hold a foreign passport the test is still provided to you at no cost.

Can I share this with my neighbor and my coworker?

Yes! Anyone can come for test to the MCC parking lot every day. Here is the flyer if you’d like to post it in your workplace’s break room.

What happens if it is raining?

Testing will take place under 20 x 40 canopies in the parking lot. Please bring an umbrella, in case of rain. Due to 6-foot distancing, the line for testing may spill out of a canopy.

When will I receive my results?

Your PCR test result will be emailed to you within 24 to 48. Due to the high demand for testing currently in this winter surge, results may take as long as three days. As testing demand on laboratories slackens, we will go back to a typical turnaround of 24 hours.

Why are you doing this?

MCC East Bay is a community center and we are privileged to serve. As we have done in the past two years of this pandemic, we are happy to sponsor and host critical events like this to do our part to help the community get through this pandemic.

What test is offered?

KindlyTest uses RT-PCR (Reverse Transcript PCR) analyzers for COVID-19 testing. We chose this technology for its accuracy and reliability. RT-PCR tests are accepted as the ‘gold standard’ for schools, businesses and pre-travel COVID testing. The PCR test are provided to you at no cost. The testing is conducted by our lab partner DiaCarta. We have partnered with the best-in-class testing suppliers and CDC-approved licensed laboratory, which is registered with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).

Our partner mosques in Fremont and Santa Clara (MCA) are also hosting daily free COVID testing.

Is your test FDA approved?

Our partner lab is CLIA certified and uses test following the FDA’s guidance. A CLIA certification is vital for a testing facility and is required for traveling to countries outside the US.
