Kids & Youth Islamic Summer Camp | Indira Kaljo

For Boys and girls Ages 4-7 (one group) and 8-11 (Boys and girls will be separated): This summer, enroll your child in a dynamic camp designed to enrich their Deen through engaging play, educational activities, arts, and sports. All groups will have a maximum of 1 teacher for every 10 kids.

We will have daily Islamic knowledge classes, outdoor games, nature activities, arts and crafts, sports, snacks, water balloon fun, and more! Each unit lasts approximately 45 minutes, with time for lunch and prayer.

Monday through Friday* | June 2, 2025 – Aug. 1, 2025 | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. | $360/week | Banquet Hall  | You can reserve for 1 week at a time or 4-9 weeks at a $50 per week discount. Register at mcceastbay.org/islamic-camp.

Bring water bottles and lunch for the day. Thursday’s lunch will be provided for all attendees! Wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes, and bring prayer clothes for Dhuhr prayer.

About the Instructor

Indira Kaljo is the founder of Almadina Mustangs. Sr. Indira is hugely excited to offer summer camps at MCC East Bay for the second year! She holds a Master’s degree in Science, emphasizing Physical Education. Over the last twelve years, she has organized summer and winter camps for youth in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bosnia, and California. Sr. Indira is passionate about working with children and youth to provide a safe, fun, and enriching space for them to enjoy their summer! Sr. Indira looks to hire highly energetic, positive, and knowledgeable Muslims to offer beneficial and enjoyable sessions throughout the camp day, insha’Allah. She has played professional basketball and has been a director of various programs since 2014.

College Counselor Team:
Girls Counselor and Lead: Sr. Masoma brings years of hands-on experience teaching at various Islamic summer camps, Sunday schools, and community programs throughout the Bay Area. A Hafidhah of the Quran and dedicated youth mentor, she has led Quran, Islamic studies, and character-building classes. Masoma is passionate about creating meaningful spaces where young people feel supported, inspired, and connected to their faith. She founded a literacy nonprofit, coordinated outreach efforts, and served on various leadership boards. This summer, she’s excited to bring her energy and love for teaching to make it unforgettable in sha Allah. She will also be a supervisor of the camp and your point of contact for girls. 

Boys Counselor and LeadBr. Kashif, a senior at San Jose State, finished Hifz in 2018. He attended K-8th grade at Northstar Islamic School, learning everything from advanced Fiqh and Islamic studies to Seerah. He has experience teaching children throughout the years, being an after-school maktab teacher for Quran and Islamic studies. He enjoys being involved with growing children’s knowledge of everything Islam promotes, not just in the textbooks but in real-world scenarios. He looks forward to having fun with the campers this summer!
