More About Ustadha Rukayat:
Rukayat Yakub is an author, educator, trainer, and professional coach. She has expertise in educational theory, curriculum design, pedagogy, race studies, Islamic education, and ethical wealth redistribution.
She holds a BS in Optical Management and an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Certification in Elementary Education. She also has classical training in Islamic sciences from teachers in Mauritania, Morocco, Spain, the US, and the UK.
She co-founded the African-American Healing and Ancestral Development Collective (AHAD) and founded Light Legacy Books. Rukayat is an instructor at Ribaat Academic Institute working on an MA in Islamic Education.
She is the author of the award-winning activity book “Ahmadu Bamba: Sage of Senegal.” In 2020 she expanded Light Legacy Books into the delivery of online children’s classes.
Rukayat embraces the spiritual journey that motherhood provides. So much of her work and the materials she has developed stem from conversations with her children and her desire to share her insights with them and children across the globe.
