We thank our interfaith and community partners for supporting MCC’s Girls & Cub Scout Troops with their Seventh-Annual Eid Toy Drive.
Like on Christmas morning, Eid morning can be a difficult time for newly arrived refugee children as well as families struggling with financial challenges.
This Ramadan, MCC has identified 650 deserving children in the East Bay via our Zakat charity program.
Our youth will spread cheer to these children by giving each child’s parent(s) a new, wrapped gift so the parent can gift it to their child on Eid morning.
So many of our beloved interfaith community partners have helped our scouts!
A special shout out to the Children & Youth program at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Livermore stake. Their dedication to service is truly commendable!
Inspired by the parable of the Good Samaritan, LDS stake children assembled 200+ “bags of sunshine” with toys & games, and coloring pages for literacy support for newly-arrived refugee children in the East Bay.
We are all privileged to serve these families together.
