Motherhood as Leadership: A Meaningful Mother’s Day Gathering

On Saturday, May 2, MCC East Bay hosted a heartfelt Mother’s Day program, “Motherhood as Leadership: Nurturing Faith, Community, and Spiritual Care.” The event brought the community together for an afternoon of reflection, inspiration, and connection centered on the powerful role of mothers as leaders.

The program featured an engaging panel with Hina Khan Mukhtar, Nora Zaki Mantas, and Rukayat Yakub, who shared personal reflections and professional insights on motherhood, faith, and well-being. Through their discussion, they highlighted how the spiritual labor of mothers—rooted in compassion, patience, and resilience—plays a vital role in shaping families and strengthening communities.

Attendees participated in a thoughtful Q&A session, followed by a relaxed social hour where guests connected over tea and refreshments in a warm, welcoming space.

Sponsored by Bayan Islamic Graduate School and MCC East Bay, the event served as a meaningful reminder of the profound impact of motherhood and the importance of nurturing faith and community care.
