Join us for an evening of meaningful conversation as we welcome California State Senator Aisha Wahab for an inside look at public service, civic engagement, and the impact everyday residents can have on their communities.
Sunday, August 16 | 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. | MCC Conference Room | Join us in-person or live
Many young Muslims hear conflicting messages about politics but rarely get the opportunity to understand how government works beyond Election Day. In this fireside chat, Senator Wahab will share her journey from serving on the Hayward City Council to representing California’s 10th Senate District in the State Senate.
The evening will feature a moderated discussion, an open Q&A with attendees, and a mixer, providing an opportunity to connect with fellow community members and continue the conversation.
Whether you’re curious about government, interested in public service, or simply looking to become a more engaged member of your community, this event offers a unique opportunity to learn from one of California’s leading public servants.
This is a nonpartisan educational event focused on civic participation, public service, and understanding the legislative process.
