Community Healing Circle | Maristan

Parents, Middle Schoolers, & High Schoolers: please join us for an important panel discussion to pause, reflect, and connect with others in our community. This Healing Circle offers a safe space to share, listen, and support one another through life’s challenges, guided by Maristan’s trained mental health professionals who are grounded in faith, compassion, and community care. Come as you are. You are welcome to listen, share, or simply be present. Breakout rooms will take place.

About Imam Tahir Anwar:

Born in London, England, Shaykh Tahir A has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1983. After completing his religious studies, Imam Tahir Anwar has served the Bay Area Muslim community since 2000. In addition, he is the founding board member of Averroes High School, the Bay Area’s first Muslim high school. He is currently the chairman of the board of NISA, North-American Islamic Shelter for the Abused, an organization that works towards alleviating issues related to domestic violence. He has a passion for community service. He served on the Human Rights Commission for the City of San Jose for over 5 years and on the Human Relations Commission for the County of Santa Clara for one year. He also leads a group for Hajj each year.

MCC proudly offers a counseling office with marriage and therapy sessions led by counselors trained in holistic Islamic psychology. Don’t suffer alone.

Some insurance plans are accepted. At this time, we can take new clients who reside in California.

MCC offers counseling in partnership with Maristan, a spiritual community wellness center that provides marriage, individual, and family counseling, premarital coaching, consultation, and a psychiatrist (medication management). Counseling fees are payable on a sliding scale.
