A Haji Noor Deen’s Unique Fusion of Eastern and Western Calligraphy
The Chinese and Arabic calligraphic traditions have often been compared as two of the world’s finest manifestations of the written word. When combined, the result is an artistic piece of incredibly unique beauty.
Noor Deen’s mastery has earned him invitations to lecture and workshop at institutions worldwide, including Harvard University, Cambridge University, UC Berkeley, MIT, the Bukhari Institute, the Islamic College in Zhengzhou, China, the Zaytuna Institute in California, and many others. Currently, Noor Deen is developing his gallery, “The Chinese House for the Arts of Islamic Arabic Calligraphy,” and the “Arabic Calligraphy Creative Centre” at the National Academy of Painting and Calligraphy in Henan Province, China.
